This wonderful inn sits right on the shore of beautiful Alamoosook Lake. We stayed for one night in Sept. The welcome was warm and our room was very comfortable. There are lawn chairs overlooking the lake and canoes/kayaks available. Dinner was available the night we were there, with offerings for different tastes. The service was attentive and personable, and the food delicious! Accommodations were easily made for a person in the party who is gluten-intolerant. Plenty of loons, geese, and ducks to enjoy, wonderful view of moon and sunrise! Breakfast was as enjoyable as dinner. I hope to return before too long.

Wonderful spot! Relax by lake or take a canoe or kayak out! Dining also lakeside. Delicious breakfast! Exceptionally clean rooms. The new owners are fantastic! The Inn was built by the one woman’s great grandfather and they got it back! Nice family story with two new owners doing their best to accommodate your every need! They make dinner now too. I got a lobster roll after a long drive down from Canada ( best one I had all week!). Come support this family owned business and you will enjoy!

I want to thank the new owners who have been working real hard to improve the quality of the Inn. They have new linen, towels and updating all the small things they can do right now. I asked Mitchell how their hamburgers were and she replied the best. Well I can honestly say that it was not the best but it was not far from it. My response to her, was to not change this burger on your menu and it was excellent.

We needed a one-night stay to break up a drive Downeast and by chance found the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn. Got the last available room (inn was hosting a wedding the next day) and we're glad we did. Truly a secluded lakeside location, complete with loons calling to each other at dusk. Kayaks and a paddleboat for guests. Lawn chairs to sit by the water or under the lakeside trees. Basic, spotless room. Comfortable bed. Fluffy towels. Tasty breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, gluten-free toast for my wife; large bowl of yogurt, granola and Maine blueberries for me. No cost for weekday mornings; there is a full weekend brunch at extra cost, but with a $10 reduction for guests. Inn co-owner Chausey juggled her duties as hostess, chef, receptionist and mother with grace and good humor. She offered to grill hamburgers or vegan burgers for that night but we opted for dinner in nearby Bucksport. She called Verona Wine and Bistro to make reservations for us. (Small plate dining on an outdoor patio. Do try it.) We would love to return.

The new owners are just getting started (as of June 2024). The inn is right on a beautiful lake in the woods, which we'd have loved to swim in had we gone in warmer weather. It's remote--at the end of a dirt road--but very close to Bucksport, which has plenty of restaurants. Our room was very comfortable. The breakfast, in a beautiful room with walls of windows facing the lake, is like eating at a restaurant. (You order off of a menu, and they apply a $10 credit if you're staying with them.) Very good quality. The owner is very friendly, and gave us an excellent restaurant recommendation in Bucksport for dinner.

Quiet, beautiful overnight stay, can’t wait to return! A peaceful setting in the woods and lakeside. The room was spotless and the bed was huge and comfy. Little touches like chocolates for me and dog treats for Sky were a sweet surprise. Deb and Barry, the hosts, are warm and friendly. Dogs are welcome. ❤️ They have sitting spaces all along the hallway to the 6 rooms which face out onto the lake, as well as a fireplace area with magazines etc. Kayak and canoes are offered to guests to use. A lakeside fire pit is located on a point just beyond the lawn with Adirondack chairs. Even with the gloomy weather last night and this morning, it was a wonderful place to kick back and recharge. The very reasonable price includes a hot breakfast. It really doesn’t get any better than this.

My husband and I spent 2 nights and the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn, and we were absolutely delighted with our stay! The lodge is located in a remote and serene area on a beautiful lake. The common areas (indoors and outdoors) are spacious and well kept. Our room (#2) was cozy and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was amazing! Lots of food (including fresh fruit and yogurt in addition to hot entrees) and very tasty. Barry and Debbie are wonderful hosts…very helpful and hospitable. We highly recommend this place to those visiting the area!

Great place to stay. Very central to many state and national parks and attractions. Beautiful spot on the lake, nice and peaceful. Hosts were excellent and made us feel right at home. Good breakfasts though I was disappointed that they did not serve real Maine Maple Syrup. Being a maple producer that is a big thing for me. All in all a great place to stay.
