A surprisingly good hotel, in the middle of a lovely forest. Quick and efficient check-in, by friendly staff. Nice open areas in the garden for a drink or snack. The rooms are modern and have everything one needs. The surrounding nature is fabulous, nice forest walks, spectacular country houses.

Gisteren op doorreis hier geweest te lunchen en het was goed. We hebben op het terras geluncht samen met mijn neef. Hij komt hier nog wel eens met het werk. Goede bediening en goed toeven. Als we weer in de buurt zijn komen we zeer zeker weer. Tot spoedig .

Mooi hotel met vriendelijk personeel. Genoten van het 4-gangen arrangement overnachting en gezellig eten in de culinaire bistro. Met 10 vrienden zaten we aan een grote tafel bij het venster. De bediening was heel goed en het eten was superlekker voor ieder van ons. Goede prijskwaliteit verhouding. Prachtig ontbijt.

Geweldig hotel in een prachtige omgeving. Fijne ruime kamer met mooie badkamer incl inloop douche. Klein koelkastje en koffie en thee faciliteiten. Wordt dagelijks bijgevuld Hotel ligt recht tegenover het wandelgebied met talloze wandel en fietsroutes Zwembad klein maar fijn om even lekker te ontspannen. Ontbijt uitstekend en voor ieder wat wils Restaurant uitstekend Grand café 1834 uitstekend Personeel zeer vriendelijk.

Verscholen in de bossen dit ruime hotel wat blijkbaar ook voor zakelijke bijeenkomsten gebruikt wordt. Prima kamer met goed bed en ruime badkamer met goede inloopdouche. Wel een erg lage en beetje onhandig geplaatste toiletpot en een rare (lekkage?) vlek in de vloer. Bistro met ruim terras serveert dagmenu en al-la-carte. Dagmenu schappelijk geprijsd en niet onaardig en hoofdgerecht op mijn verzoek probleemloos en naar wens aangepast. Uitgebreide drankenkaart. Goed ontbijt. Personeel heel vriendelijk en redelijk attent. Fijn hotel. Aanrader.

A beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Everything about our three night stay was perfect. Excellent buffet breakfast, delicious food at Grand Cafe bistro, comfortable beds, great storage in rooms. The hotel has recently been renovated and the rooms are up to a high end standard. We had great service from the entire staff. Gerbrich of the front desk staff was particularly helpful. She went above and beyond in getting us into the best room for our needs when we requested an upgrade. Always friendly with a beautiful smaller and she was so helpful in explaining the area and suggesting what we might do during our visit.

Because this was the only catering establishment in the nearby area that was open, I went here 3 times; Once just for a beer, once for lunch and once for dinner. We searched for “Grand Café 1834” but couldn't find it at first. Wasn't indicated anywhere either. However, the café is located and part of the hotel. A bit confusing. The service is (as they promise) top. Pleasant and friendly waiters and waitresses. You receive your order very quickly and always with a chat and some humor. Cozy large terrace and ditto restaurant. Food, the asparagus and the chicken thighs, were very tasty. Less than 10 minutes by bike from Heerenveen. Cycling routes usually start from here.

The staff at this hotel are the most polite and friendly staff I've ever met at a hotel. Makes a whole big difference to the overall stay experience. Restaurant is amazing, location is beautiful in the middle of really nice walking routes, rooms are spotless clean. There is nothing I can fault this hotel on .... a pure gem !

After many years, I spent a few nights in Tjaarda, Oranjewoud. Completely transformed in 2023 and that is something to be seen. The entire hotel has a contemporary and personal appearance. Our room was spacious, seating area, large table for reading and working. Good lighting. Bathroom with large shower area and rain and hand shower. Bathroom accessories from Scapa. Excellent beds. Safe, possibility to make tea and coffee (Nespresso), minibar. If there is any criticism to be made: the walk-in mat needs to be replaced. The hotel has a Grand Café with original menu items and an excellent Marijke Muoi Restaurant serving refined and tasty dishes. Not cheap, but very well maintained. The vegetable menu is especially special.
