I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, the hotel makes an impression, the service is very nice, the rooms are clean, but on the other hand there are a few minuses:
- the air conditioning in the room stank, it was unbearable without an open window
- we had booked dinner but it turned out that drinks are not included in the price and are paid separately (seriously, even still water is paid extra! )
- from 6/7 am you can hear the room service from the corridor

Impeccable hotel! Very clean, well-located, and with always attentive and friendly service. The amenities are good, and the hotel atmosphere is very pleasant for relaxing. A great choice for both vacation and a getaway. I would definitely stay here again!

Very big historical hotel in the center of the city. The buffets were very nice. I especially enjoyed the breakfast, which had a great variety and was delicious. The sauna/spa facilities were nice but had a strange smell, nontheless it was very nice to have during rainy hours! Overall a very nice hotel with a good value but a bit run down.

In mitten von Opatija liegt dieses schöne alte Hotel. Historische Fassade, das Design im Inneren ist ein Mix aus Alt und Neu. Die Zimmer nach vorne mit Meerblick sind okay und gut ausgestattet. In der Nacht kann es schon etwas lauter werden, wenn Motorräder oder Sportwagen den Berg am Hotel als Rennstrecke nutzen. Personal war freundlich und kompetent. Das Frühstück ist besonders hervorzuheben, sehr große und gute Auswahl an Speisen gepaart mit einem schnellen Service. Der historische Saal des Hotels dient als Frühstücksraum, sicher etwas ungewohnt aber einfach mal etwas anderes.

Great food and location, but overshadowed by missing amenities. Shower floor quite slippery and no bar to hold on to. Asked for bar soap, but not available and told to use shampoo/gel for everything. No wash cloths available. Asked for box of facial tissues but not available and told to use toilet paper. Only one extra pillow for my wife and I. Only one cover available on the bed. Our king bed was actually two twins pushed together. Bathroom a bit small. No double lock available on door. Staff at reception not very friendly.

I stayed at this hotel for six nights and had an overall positive experience. It's a historic building, well-maintained overall (except for the exterior windows and doors), and just steps from the sea. The cleanliness is excellent, and the breakfast is varied and plentiful; perhaps the sweet options could be improved. The staff are friendly and polite, always available to help with any needs. The only negative, and for this reason, I'm downgrading my rating: one day they forgot to make up the room, which is particularly serious for a 4-star hotel!
