We prebooked 3 nights for a powered site at the homestead, what a disappointment everything looked so nice in the brochures and web site, not one-bit green grass around camp sites plenty bindi eye though, has sprinklers everywhere but looked like not used, no hot water for showers, broken toilet seats, taps full of calcium, shower walls need a clean, shower heads leaking, one washing machine the other has no door. Obviously no maintenance has been done for a very long time, some good points nice pool to cool off in, bar well stocked $5:00 for can coke though, food average. Such a shame this place has been let go seems management do not care. Especially when you pay $80:00 for a powered site some with water.

I'm disappointed to write this review after hearing positive things about Home Valley from friends who had travelled on the Gibb last year. The service my family & friends received was nothing short of spectacularly rude (the first and worst of our entire 5 month trip to date). Kitchen closing early at lunch (despite us still being in the window of 12-2pm and an "All day" advertised option) and when we offered to pre pay/order our dinner so we could be first up with hungry children missing lunch (after 12 days on the Gibb, our food stocks were low to say the least!) this was rudely met with "its too difficult". With this in mind, we made sure we were in line early at dinner to be able to order upon opening time at 6pm. Again, met with complete rudeness as we were 3 minutes early at 5:57pm, despite the line next door having their food orders taken at 5:58pm. Safe to say we decided not to re-join the back of the line and did not eat. The next morning before we departed I went to reception, left my details and have yet to receive an email or phone call. Based on this lack of care, its safe to say Home Valley are not on the same level as Ellenbrae or El Questro (both places were great- service, food and clearly care about what they are offering & their guests). Overall, we can handle OK food, luke warm showers & broken washing machines because we all know we are remote, however when you are consistently met with downright rude, unhelpful and snide staff it does leave a bad taste. Do yourself a favour- spend your money at Ellenbrae and El Questro and if you need to stop in between, The Pentecost is a great option.

Very poor customer service at this station. Do not pre book your stay. We pre booked and due to unforeseen circumstances had to leave a night early and they refused a refund & then never responded to our email sent to the station manager. This is in stark contrast to Ellenbrae who wholly acknowledge the Gibb River Road is unpredictable by nature and things change. The customer service in the restaurant was the worst I’ve experienced in a long time. Kitchen closing early, refusing to take orders & staff members who were generally unwilling to help or provide customer service. Save your money and stay at Ellenbrae or El Questro for a better experience.

We stayed at Home Valley just before finishing the Gibb. We had two camping sites that had power and water. The amenities were more than adequate with large bathrooms. The place is lovely and great if you have kids as there’s a playground and lovely pool area. As we were quite early in the season there was no food provided until later that week but this was not an issue for us. The bar area was fantastic and we were able to get drinks. The camping spots are a little hard to navigate how they are marked out and there was a bit of confusion but that was sorted by a lovely staff member. Would definitely return 😊

We've just visited Home Valley Station for three nights as we begin our Gibb River Road trip. They offer powered and unpowered sites close to the bar and restaurant or bush camping down by the river. The facilities were all clean if a little old. The bar and restaurant were open and the food and service were excellent. The staff were all lovely. Visitors can enjoy a number of bush walks and the amazing views on the property. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

Pool empty and apparently has been for over a year, no food available at all in Dusty’s Bar, no shop at all, sites full of big ant holes and bindy, amenities appear to not have been cleaned since last season and don’t try any of the seemingly great sounding walking trails, you will be lucky not to get lost! Nicest part was the sunset on the Cockburn Ranges! And you are still charged the same rate even though there is nothing available! Would recommend NOT stopping there, such a shame as the original infrastructure is magnificent it just has not been maintained!

Great facilities with hot showers and a wonderful swimming pool. Very well priced food and good beers on tap in the bar. Brilliant fishing tour run by Warwick to the Pentecost River. I caught a 90 cm Barra on the top of the tide. Couldn’t be happier.

Awesome place for both kids and adults - playground and swimming pool for kids, pub and restaurant complete with big screen tv for the adults. Booked 1 night, stayed 2, would have loved to stay longer. Thank you to the lovely friendly helpful staff.
