Ryokan Ito is a small establishment not far from Omachi station. It is easy and convenient to reach and is a very good place to stop before or after a crossing of the Tateyama Kurobe.
The rooms are very pretty, Japanese style, and are clean. The manager is very kind and helpful.
The establishment is well equipped but has suffered from time, perhaps from less than reverent occupants and therefore leaves a feeling, aesthetically, of neglect. The corridors seem worn, the toilets and baths do not seem to receive the adequate maintenance that these rooms require (mold, sticky areas, broken tiles) and it is a great shame. I am convinced that with a little effort, this ryokan could really work wonders but needs a good big facelift first.
