Hyatt Regency Greenwich

It feels like the Hyatt in Greenwich is coasting on its name. I expected a bit more from the $300 price tag for the night. There was no tea kettle, no robe, $25 to park!!!, and long wait for an average breakfast (not buffet so you could only pick one meal - no free flowing water, tea, coffee). Except for the staff that checks you in, staff in the hallways and restaurant don’t engage with the customers- no “good mornings” or “have a nice day”.

We decided on a whim to travel to Greenwich for a short weekend trip. The hotel is beautiful like an ancient majestic church. There was even a church service while we were there. I love architecture and history and the place felt magical. We ate at the Townsend Bar. Whoever decorated it has an eye for beauty. Mohammed our server was so polite and prompt in providing us what we wanted. The drinks were delicious. The bartender made awesome margaritas with just the right amount of spice on the rim. Jair at front desk accommodated us with late complimentary checkout. Everyone including the guests were friendly and loved our little dog. It was great.

I was drawn-into Glenna's Market, nestled in the Hyatt’s atrium by a smile that lit up the entire atrium. As I ordered a nitro-brew and breakfast sandwich, I learned that the team member behind that infectious smile was Cecilia. Though the smile would’ve been enough, Cecilia provided excellent customer service, ensuring that my beverage & sandwich was made perfectly to my preference. Her communication and social skills matched her customer service skills - 100% professional experience. I would recommend leveraging Cecilia as a role model & mentor for the team. Though the cold brew and sandwich were good, it was Cecilia’s smile, professionalism, and kindness that will have me talking about Glenna’s & returning!
