Nicely situated in downtown Ogden. Close to the temple and a variety of restaurants and shops. Modern decor with clean lobby area. Color scheme seems a bit outdated, but who cares. Front desk is exceptionally friendly and informative. Breakfast is buffet style with an impressive selection. Few complimentary breakfasts compare to Hamptons. The only negative factor which negates this Hampton Hotel is the parking. Only about a dozen parking spots in an obscure location around back on the next block. Tricky to locate and more frustrating if you check in late and all the stalls are full. Street parking is the next best thing if you're lucky. Rooms are more than adequate. Comfortable beds and pillows. Super clean and worth the price, just not the parking.

Checked into a large suite that faces the interior courtyard. Only one window looked like a dungeon. First thing that hit me was the musty smell, attempting to mask with a potpourri fragrance. Brutally strong and rank smelling. Both sleeper sofa cushions were ripped, couch smelled bad and looked soiled (see photo). Immediately went downstairs asked for a new room and showed staff pictures. They acknowledged the musty smell and said they cannot air out the rooms and use a "potpourri" fragrance. I showed them a picture of the couch and said that almost all of the couches in the suites had ripped cushions. I was given another room which was a downsized room. Was told that the manager would refund the balance or give some type of credit. Days later and I have yet to be able to speak with a manager. Parking was a far walk, very inconvenient. I am a frequent traveler and a Hilton Honors member, and this was the worst Hilton property I have visited.

THANK YOU, DOROTHY AND AMANDA…!!! We started planning our cross-country trip months and months ago — then the day before our stop in Layton the hotel informed us they’d given away our room to someone who had extended a stay. Thanks to the wonderful — and swift — work of Director of Sales Dorothy, we happily landed here at the Hampton Inn & Suites of Ogden the very next day. Bless you, Dorothy. She got us into a really, really spacious 1-Bedroom Suite, separate living room, bath tub, super-sized wet bar (it might as well be called a mini-kitchen) and we were right smack in downtown. Parking is in a garage about a block or so away, but you can pull right up to the hotel in the yellow loading zone, get luggage carts, check-in, take your things to your room and then return with the hotel parking pass to the garage. It seems longer to drive there because you have to go around the block, but you walk back in a jiffy. And right across from parking, you’ll see All About Tacos. It’s no-frills and nothing short of the best Mexican food you’ll ever taste. Speaking of such, the Hampton Breakfast is the usual delicious Hampton fare, with some tasty scones as a little extra. There’s also a fitness room off the Lobby with free weights, machines, towels, even a scale. The building itself is 8 stories, with an “old-timey” feel like it’s a grand dame of architecture, very cool and amazing views from all the many windows in the 1-Bedroom Suite. Special thanks once again to Hilton’s “Specialist to the Rescue” Sales Director Dorothy, as well as to Amanda on the Front Desk who got us into our room the moment we came through the door. And we sure are glad we did come through that door. See you the next time we skip Layton — and come straight to the Ogden Hampton Inn & Suites.
