When we checked into the room, everything looked okay. I will mention that it was in the old part of the motel. I got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and saw numerous small cockroaches running around on the floor. I killed them but more came out from under the tub. I was horrified that we would take some home with us. These were the small cockroaches and not the larger pimento bugs/sewer roaches. When I finished killing those, I went into the kitchen where I was confronted by another roach. If you must stay here, make sure you stay in the newer/3 story building.

Local OBX family and our first overnight stay in Ocracoke - so glad we chose the Pony Island Inn! We had the Blackbeard Suite and it was ROOMY and CLEAN! This is perfect if you have children and know how nice extra space is vs a traditional small hotel room. It was reasonably priced too at the height of tourist season. Our kiddo felt like a queen in her oversized room with a King bed and her own bathroom. We didn't really cook though the kitchen was nice and we liked having plates and a full size fridge etc. We slept well, the staff was lovely and we enjoyed the pool (which was also very clean.) Thank you, we'll be back :)

Very nice property. The room was very clean. The bathroom bodywash & shampoo was directly monunted in the shower which is very convenient, no more little bottles. We did ask for more coffee since there was only 1 packet and we are coffee drinkers but was given more with a smile. I would definitely use this inn again, if coming back here again.
