The Inn on the Green

Traditional country inn Very friendly, comfortable old country inn on the edge of a large village green. We enjoyed a good pub food dinner and hearty breakfast. A friendly welcome when we arrived and our room was very clean and comfortable with a TV, tea & coffee making, and nice toiletries in the bathroom.

Extremely friendly staff great service. Very noisy road outside but they do provide ear plugs. Shower cubicle needs updating quite a bit of mould in the shower area. Overall an enjoyable stay

A lovely stay over Christmas 🎄🎁 We stayed here from the Monday to Friday over Christmas. It was a lovely traditional pub hotel with good cask ales. Food was sensational and cooked to perfection by the landlady Julie. We had two evening meals and breakfast each morning. The customer service from Julie, Ali and others was so lovely. The lsndlord is a well known actor who has appeared in Emmerdale,Hollyoaks and others during the 1990's. Lovely location and an amazing 15th century inn. The pub and rooms are well presented and really are cosy and welcoming. The pub welcomes pets which is why we chose it. The rooms were very comfortable with good facilities. I love all the quirks that go with buildings of this age including the creaking floorboards. Good size garden and plenty of parking. Julie thank you sooo much, we will miss you and your pub x

We have been staying here for the Christmas week, my wife and dog called Betty. Its an amazing traditional old inn with so much character in the building and surroundings. The customer service by the landlady the lovely Julie was first classl. All staff we have encountered have been very lovely, helpful and so professional. We were checked in by Ali on our first night who have us such a lovely welcome. The food and menu is very good, a very good choice and all meals we have had including the breakfast have been sensational. Julie cooks a lovely bit of bacon in the morning ! Hunters Chicken, Sausages and Mash and Surf and Turf burger were all very good. The prices were fair and reasonable. Good range of drinks and a couple of well chosen, well kept and pullled "real" beer such as Sheer Drop and Mosaic. Lovely. Big pub with pool table, billiards table and plenty of seating. Very cosy pub and very cosy rooms all decorated to a good traditional pub standard. We also paid for one of our oldest freinds to stay here with us as the place and staff was so good. PET FREINDLY !!! THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE MOST APRECIATED ESPECIALLY AS OUR PET IS PRIMARILY AN ASSISTNACE DOG /SERVICE DOG. Good Christmas decorations and trees ! It will be sad to checkout on Friday and go back to reality but we would certainly reccomend if you like traditional historic country pub style hotels . Sam Covill.

Lovely country B&B Had a lovely stay enjoyed pub lunch and breakfast was included which was also lovely very friendly and would definitely return if in the area

Ideal! Perfect stay. Quiet spacious pub with good choice of drinks including real ales. Food was perfect and reasonably priced, waitress was lovely and all the staff were friendly. The room was clean and quiet and a good size. I totally recommend this one.
