We just returned from 5 days at Sandals Ochi. Overall, it was a relaxing vacation, which we needed. The staff was great. Our room was cleaned in a timely manner, towels were available and dinners were tasty. My hour massage by Theresa was bliss. Shout out to Daniel who saw my husband trip and go down. He was on the spot and called the nurse to come evaluate and then even got us a table at our favorite restaurant after getting check out. That being said, it would have been nice to have a list of restaurants and when they are closed. On more than one occasions, we got to a restaurant only to find that it was closed. The bus ride to the resort was long, and made longer with a 20 minute stop. I just spent the entire day traveling. I don’t want to stop, I want to get to the resort and unpack and relax. The resort, at least on the beach side, was tired looking. Everything was clean and swept and racked but there were tiles missing from the wall in the elevator as well as in the pool. It just needed a little tlc. The bummer of the trip was checkout day. We had to check out at 7:15 and our bus was picking us up at 7:45. Every breakfast restaurant opened at 7:30 so we did not have enough time to eat. This is not good for someone who gets motion sick riding in a bus driving on curvy roads. It would have been nice if Sandals had a table with some pastries and coffee and juice for us to partake in before leaving. I even tried using the app to “ask Gina” where we could find food, but never got an answer. What a waste. By the time I got to the airport, I was sick and there was no going back, no matter what I tried. Overall, I think the staff here tries their best with what they have. Sandals owners need to funnel some funds toward this resort for a facelift. We will not be back to Ochi and plan on going to either Curaçao or Antigua in the future.
