Canterbury Inn

We recently got to spend a couple days at the Canterbury in Suite 302, and overall it was amazing. Each room is a condo with an individual owner who decorates and furnishes, it so you get the "homey" feel of a condo rental, but there's most of the amenities of a standard hotel, including a pool/jacuzzi, very nice social area and outdoor patio, and a local front desk staff who is very knowledgeable and helpful. Honestly the format was brilliant and I left thinking I wish more places were like that. Why stay at the Canterbury, 1. It'll feel like staying in a friend's beach side condo. 2. Friendly staff who can answer any question about the town. 3. The location is awesome with a walking trail directly to the beach, that I could hit with a rock from our rooms balcony (note the beach is actually a bit of a walk through the nature preserve from every hotel in ocean shores, but trust me when I say the walk is worth it, the walk itself is gorgeous and we saw deer, rabbits and squirrels on the way) if you can't walk a half mile the beach front by vehicle is just a couple blocks away. Things to know before choosing the Canterbury. 1. There's no housekeeping during your stay, closer to that rental condo. You can get fresh towels etc. 2. There's no on-site food, so either make use of the kitchen in your unit or be prepared to go out for food, we found a few great places to eat a short drive away though.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit and loved it. At first I was a little nervous about no a/c but after opening the sliders in the front and back for a cross breeze it was perfect. Loved that we could hear the ocean. Unfortunately couldn't really see it even on the 3rd floor due to the vegetation. Not to bad of a walk to the beach.

This is a great place for families to stay. A nice big kitchen and living room. A cozy gas fireplace too! The indoor pool and spa are great for those very windy days! You will make wonderful family memories here.

The front dest attendant was gracious and helpful, as was the hospitality personnel. The room was "roomy", clean, and more than comfortable. Loved the fireplace and full kitchen! We left the sliding door cracked open so we could hear the surf pounding during the night. The grounds are very nicely kept and there is a nice picnic area with BBQ, picnic table and social seating. Plan on returning again!

We got upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite and it was great! Like a small apartment with a living room, dining table, full kitchen, & balcony. Decor was like brunt in someone's home. Just don't expect modern and new. Great place for dogs. They had a large stretch of grass in the back for the dogs and in front a nice area for managed chaos potty We didn't get a chance, but I believe there's a walk path straight to the beach? Super friendly staff.

I had driven all night on a business trip. Was greeted at the front counter with a nice friendly man. My room was OK. It was a pet friendly room. I told them I did not have any pets. I slept in past checkout and two people came to my door pounding on my door tell me they were going to call the police if I did not leave I will never stay at the Canterbury Inn again and never be treated like this on any of my business trips they always accommodate me if I wanted to stay an extra day since it was the Fourth of July holiday I understand they did not have room, but I will never stay at your facility again ever
