Coastal Palms Inn and Suites

Room was okay, except temperature too cold or stuffy. Couldn’t set units right, it took a long time to get them right. Very noisy at night, mostly traffic noise and people passing through in hallway. Breakfast was horrible, bad coffee and dry bagels. Not much selection overall. The free breakfast was a major reason to stay here. Some reviews stated that breakfast was great. It was in incorrect, we had to go to Denny’s.

Booked a non-smoking room, but my stay was ruined by smoke from a neighboring room. When I complained to the front office, they were rude and dismissive, saying, 'You signed the paper that you can't cancel.' Very disappointing experience.

The front desk is incompetent and the worst in customer service especially my experience with Kim (who refused to give me her full name). Employees do not wear name tags. I was asked to come down to the lobby because they didn’t charge me for the room. Really! Because I put the card in the machine and it said approved! Not sure what happened there. I had asked Kim for a copy of the papers I signed from when I checked in and she refused to give them to me. I asked her for someone in management because she wasn’t being very helpful and she stated “um I guess I’m the manager”. You didn’t sound too confident. What a joke! How is the front desk person the manager? You lacked professionalism to be a manager. Take it from someone who actually is a manager. I asked her who is above you and she stated the corporate office but refused to give me a name. Horrible! I said to the man checking me in at the desk on day 1 that I have a different form of payment and he told me “no problem will do that at the end” which we did. So I thought. At that time I checked in with no issues. After a few days I get a call from Kim when I was in my room that they didn’t charge me and I needed to come down to the lobby. Seriously! Before I went down there I checked both of my accounts to be sure. Before I could get down to the lobby they (Sandy) already unlawfully charged the card I specifically told them not to charge at check in. What was the point of asking me to come down if you already did it? Now I have to shift money around. Thanks for the frustration. I requested a room on the top floor and I was told pet rooms are only located on the 2nd floor. But was never told that it would be above a very loud into the late night restaurant/bar. If I had known that I would have never booked the room. The rooms are very small, not good for a family of 6 with or without a dog. We had black mold on the walls in the bathroom. Even though there was an automatic fan that turned on every time you turned the light on. There is no ice machine. You literally have to go to the front desk and ask for a bag of ice. Your apparently are allowed 1 small bag per day. What? So different from other sister hotels. I will never go back to this hotel. I couldn’t have my room cleaned because I had a pet with me. Went to Food Lion to purchase garbage bags and toilet paper. All the broken glass by the designated dog area outside was unbelievable. I even mentioned to one of the workers about the glass and it was still not picked up. Sorry, but I care a lot about my pet just like I do my children. Lesson learned I’ll stay at Marriott next time!
