Flamingo Motel

Staff was super nice, room was clean but a little run down, as you would expect for a 2 star hotel. The pool walk up rail was a bit unsafe.

We booked here for back to back weekends back in March for music festivals. I paid in full when we booked. We stayed here the first weekend. I canceled in person for the following weekend and was told the money would be refunded. The next weekend came and not only was my money not refunded, they pull out another $877 to pay for the room, again. The room I had already canceled in person. After repeated calls we were they would not refund the money because we paid in advance. They told us the billing department would contact us to see if the second charge could be refunded. Despite multiple calls we have not received any calls back from the billing department.

I came here with my family for the first time. First, let me say that the location of the hotel is nice. Very short walk (like 2 minutes) to the beach. Free on-site parking. So those were the perks. The hotel charges you $250 up-front for 'incidentals', which I feel is an absurd amount. Way too high. The rooms are small and extremely outdated. You can tell there has not been any reinvesting, which is a shame. Tower 1 building only has one ice machine that I know of, which of course never worked when I was there. There is an outdoor and an indoor pool; both were open but beware that they are definitely not heated and were chilly. Would be nice to see the hotel actually care about the guests and make improvements. Also, our room was mostly clean... except for the used towels that were still hanging on the shower curtain rod. When we spoke to the front desk, they said they would send someone to correct it. They sent someone, yet the towels weren't removed, prompting yet another front-desk visit. I had better expectations for this place. I would not stay here again.

What a great find. We've been staying at The Flamingo for the past three years and are looking forward to staying again this September. Great location; close to Jolly Roger, and several quality eating/drinking options. The beach is a half block away and, since the hotels/motels are smaller in this part of OC, less crowded than it is further north while the surf isn't as rough as it is closer to the inlet. Sure the motel's old, but we experienced no issues in terms of cleanliness or maintainence. We found our room airy and light. I mean, you're at the beach. What do you need? We rarely require maid service and the staff is more than happy to just hand us a few towels and the occasional trash bag. People who run the office are plesant and responsive. Free coffee every morning is a +++.

Hotel room was small and dated. Was clean. The staff was friendly. Big issue made us pay a $250 security deposit upon check. I’m 65 and wife 64. Is tearing up rooms has long passed. This was not stated anywhere when I made reservation. Will never go back. We stayed there years ago with our kids when they were little. One nice thing they did was let us park there early and give us a code to use a room to change and enjoy the pool till our room was ready. Needs updating and a deep clean !

Very rude old lady at front desk. We went for five days but a tropical storm ruined our visit and we wanted to leave a couple days early. We have been here different times in the last ten years. She refused to give us our money back. Also had a Ryder moving truck parked in front of our second floor balcony, blocking our view of the ocean. Just a bad experience overall. We probably won’t be back.

I don’t even know where to begin. For starters I’m not the one to complain about things but this was the worst hotel experience in my life and will be posting this same review on other forms. First when we arrived they told us that the outside pool was closed and being worked on. *********** and the hotel itself both had listed that there was 2 pools available an inside and outside pool. This was one of the reasons we chose this hotel was to enjoy an outside pool during the day and and inside pool at night and which would make things easier for my toddler who obviously cannot swim in the ocean. We have previously stayed at the quality inn on 17th street and loved the flexibility of the 2 pools. Unfortunately couldn’t get into this hotel with our dates. Since I booked directly through *********** They should have had this information listed. Nobody came to clean our room the entire trip.So much sand built up in our room. We stayed for a week. They simply only restock your towels. Sometimes they would empty the trash. Which was awful smelling dirty diapers for days. They would come whenever they felt like it sometimes 8:30 in the morning sometimes 5:30 at night. And let me tell you the towels were dirty every single day besides 1 day. Every time I opened the towels I would find long hair stains in the towels. Every single time. Some times I would find black and grey smudges. Other days yellow stains. And once I found dried up what looked like cheese particles in the towels. It was literally disgusting. I took pictures of these things. The back of the pillows were also dirty and just flipped to a clean side. For having white towels, and bedding you would think you would want these things to look as clean as possible. The floor is absolutely disgusting. Had a big yellow stain on the carpet as soon as you walked into our room. You could not walk around the floor barefoot without your feet turning black. My toddler dropped a piece of food on the floor and as soon as I picked it up to throw it away so much hair and particles came up with it. The beds are very uncomfortable and small. Had back and shoulder pain all week. The room is very outdated. Which I don’t mind about looks what matters is cleanliness. But it took me a good 10 minutes to figure out how to turn on the sink because of how outdated the rooms are. There is a sheet that has all the ocean city local channels and there was a handful of channels on the sheet that the tv actually didn’t provide such as Cartoon Network. It was very loud at night between groups of kids outside yelling to being next to what I believe was a dumpster and them taking out the trash at the wee hours of the night. Along with being next to a major intersection. The hotel had a no loud noise policy and was constantly disturbed by kids outside or people moving furniture upstairs at all hours of the night. A Nice chill motel with friendly staffs, clean, close to everything very convenient spot, partially seaview room we stayed but very comfortable and very clean. Free coffee both regular and decaf 24hrs at reception

Had high hope for this place, heard amazing things from peoples experiences here. First I’ll say the beds ARE SO COMFORTABLE! Staff member are sweet. Location is great for quiet beach and water park/amusement park. We stayed on the first floor, end room. Our balcony was next to the stairway/ shower, chair was stolen from our balcony - didn’t feel too comfortable sitting outside with people hanging over our balcony - also a wind tunnel! Our sink water ran all day and night, not a drip, a steady stream of water. Blow dryer didn’t work, if you tried it smelled burned. Had to wear shoes inside the entire stay from the moment we woke up, the bathroom floor was so old and sandy/gritty. Flies inside 😝. We were told many times that the owner is so very strict that they were unable to help move us to a different room. Finally offered us a different room next door the day before checkout- didn’t accept since we were heading out anyway. Truly just didn’t feel comfortable or settled in at this property. Won’t be returning but will miss that mattress !!
