Surfcrest Resort

As a retired couple enjoying a few days at the beach, we probably aren’t the target market for this property. I would think a family reunion situation or a kid-centric vacation would be best suited for a longer stay at this aging resort. After we made peace with the fact that we’d have to brave a very steep spiral staircase to get to the bedroom (and the only bathroom was downstairs), we decided to make the best of it and try to enjoy the wet area. We got to the pool to find a big group of people with very noisy children taking up the hot tub. We gave them about 20 minutes and checked again to see if we could get in, and they were still there so we said forget it and went back to the room. It’s also a fairly long walk to the beach, and since it was raining we didn’t even venture out. Just slept and left before taking a shower the next morning because we just couldn’t stomach the old shower and bathroom situation. All in all, the staff seemed friendly and accessible, but as I said… we aren’t the target market.

Great place for a family adventure This place is situated in a beautiful area and they have made so many fun things available for the family. Kayaks for use up and down the channel, campfire in the evenings, pool area with dry sauna and hot tub are fun activities. The path to the beach was flooded due to heavy rain so it was fun walking on a “boardwalk” of planks and limbs to get across the puddles. The lodging was good for 4 people, but I would say that is the max amount for the size of the space. All the beds were up a winding staircase and the bathroom is downstairs, so if you have people who use the bathroom in the middle of the night it can be precarious. Overall we enjoyed this place and they allow dogs. The people were all friendly and very helpful.

My family enjoyed staying here for a few days, it was just what we needed.

Good location but little outdated and had strong pet smell.

What an amazing place to make memories!! We had a great time and will definitely be back. Compliments to the staff!
