Hotel Con Corazón

The hotel was beautiful, comfortable, and well located. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was bright and roomy, and the hotel offered several activities/excursions that we took advantage of. As they also have a generous social mission, we felt great about our choice to stay here.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel con Corazón for 6 nights for our first time in Oaxaca and we absolutely loved it!! The hotel is beautifully designed and decorated. Vegetarian breakfast everyday with fresh fruits, veggies and herbs grown in the rooftop garden was a highlight. The front desk, kitchen and cleaning staff were all exceptional. This hotel is unique due to their focus on environmental sustainability and their investment into educational programs for Oaxacan kids. The location is on the outskirts of the city center. Depending on where you want to go, it took us around 12-20 minutes walking. There are plenty of restaurants and a large mercado in the direct vicinity as well. The front desk will call you a cab at anytime if needed. The hotel also offers affordable laundry service and is well stocked will yummy Mexican beer and wine. We would absolutely stay here again and want to check out the Costa Rica location as well!

Hotel Con Corazon is a social impact hotel that invests its profits in education, and contributes directly to the local community through guest stays. It believes, as we do, that education is the key to a better future. My husband and I were delighted with our 5-day stay at this hotel. It is located 10 minutes walking distance from the center of town, but this is an advantage. We enjoyed our daily walks around town, taking in the atmosphere, observing the school kids learn dances, and so on. Our room (and our friends' room) was large, bright, artfully decorated, clean, well-supplied, and maintained throughout our stay. The ceilings were tiled with patterns - they were beautiful. We were on the second floor (top floor) and our en-suite bathroom had a lovely skylight. We heard birdsong everyday and there were terraces with furniture to relax and spend time looking at the town and its environs. At night, we could see the lights in town from the balcony outside our room. I should add that the pictures on the hotel website are accurate and are exactly what the rooms look like. Breakfasts were delicious, usually yogurt with granola and fresh fruit, followed by something more substantial, either an omelette or crepes with mushrooms or something like it. We were also served bread with butter and jam, and orange or pineapple juice, and unlimited coffee. The staff that made and served breakfast were very friendly. I would sometimes come down from the room ahead of the others, and they let me have coffee and some toast in addition to the breakfast I had with the others. They also played some great music in the background while we were having breakfast, rather softly so you could easily carry on a conversation. The staff was most friendly and welcoming. They were very helpful in getting us taxicabs to go to restaurants or the airport, in suggesting restaurants for lunch or dinner, and excursions to other places. They gave me band-aids for a blister I got from my new sandals. We hired our own guide to go to Puerto Escondido on the Pacific Coast, and also to take us on a food tour around town. I would most definitely stay at this hotel again, if and when I revisit Oaxaca.

Awesome place More than I expected. From the staff to the facilities, it's spectacular.
