Really great afternoon tea at Oakley Hall Hotel. Catered to vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and picky eater dietary requirements and delicious food. Great service by Zelia. She was brilliant and very helpful. Recommend for family and friends.

Just stayed for one night. Very clean and nicely decorated and the service from all was excellent. Special mention about Zelia who was exceptional in the restaurant. I’m now retired from hospitality but I would have given her a job instantly. Unfortunately it’s very rare to get that quality of service these days so it really stands out when it’s offered.

My partner and I enjoyed an afternoon tea where we were very well looked after by Zelia who was professional, attentive and friendly. After we had eaten, we enjoyed a walk through the gardens and explored the kitchen gardens. Thank you D. & L.

Billed as a luxury hotel, our stay was disappointing. The building and grounds are beautiful, but the service and rooms don't match. The online pre-registration seemed a good idea, but made no difference to check in with information not stored. We arrived at the same time as a coach party. the cramped reception area was overwhelmed with no system in place to manage large groups, meaning we were kept waiting a considerable time (despite having registered online in advance). The room we were allocated involved going back outside into the rain to access it, so finding the receptionist had not activated our key when we finally got there added to an already unsatisfactory arrival experience. Another dash through the rain and the maze of corridors (and back again) we eventually got inside a large and very dark room. There is an offering of 1 can of still water and 1 can of sparkling water per couple. A further hunt eventually unearthed a tea tray, but this could easily be missed. The bathroom was a very big concern. There is a deep bath with shower over. A slip mat is supplied and with good reason as the bath was slippery, however the mat was downright dangerous. My husband successfully showered, but once the bath was wet the mat would not stick to the bath and acted as a slip hazard, causing me to fall as it gave way under my foot on attempting to get into the bath. Incidentally, the bath is so deep a person with mobility difficulties would not be able to get in at all. The 'luxury' elements of the hotel can't make up for poor service and dangerous bathroom facilities.

Absolutely dreadful food cold greasy sub standard poor quality despite two chances to rectify service was appalling no regard for us as clients my friends who were staying there for three nights were so very upset at the poor service , I can see from other reviews this is quite the normal for this particular hotel and staff is this good enough no it’s not the whole restraunt menus should be overhauled new chefs prices are ridiculous for the kind of food and quality that is being turned out this was a Sunday evening meal disappointed absolutely would I recommend a stay there ,with meals no it would greatly have to improve is this hotel value for money compared to other four star hotels unfortunately I think not

We attended for our daughter's wedding. Overall a good experience BUT: I had to ask which drinks on offer were non alcoholic at the start of the event. For the sit down meal, there was only water on the tables, apart from alcoholic wine. One table with young children was provided with ribena, which one parent was drinking as he didn't want to have alcohol. There ought to have been adult non-alcoholic drinks on the table, as well as the wine. Plenty of people had to drive home that evening - therefore, a non alcoholic option (not simply water) should have been there. I had to ask for something to have with the meal, and then when the toast was poured, again had to state that I wasn't drinking alcohol, and it took a while for the staff to find a non alcoholic option (which was really nice, by the way!). My husband and I opted for the vegan meal. The 'pithivier' (pie) was far too salty to manage. The vegetables were only blanched, not cooked even to al dente. Those of us with elderly teeth struggled. I passed on the pie and the dessert cake to my ever hungry son. Vegan food can be delicious, and I am sorry that this was not the case on what was otherwise a well organised and happy occasion.

The hotel was great, set in beuatiful grounds with a good sized room made more memorable by the fantsastic Zelia who is an aboslute gem and a truly remarkable young lady. Thank you Zelia and the team (Bozena and Connor) for making the stay a happy one :)

Last night was the second summer ball I've attended at this fabulous hotel. Once again the event was superbly organised with no small detail left out. Thanks to all staff involved for the extra special care taken to include our special dietary requirements. The venue is stunning and this year the weather allowed us to go outside into the beautiful grounds for drinks, canapés and photos. The canapés were delicious as always especially the beef brisket. The dinner was fabulous. Beautifully presented and cooked. The live band were great and really good at filling the floor. As another guest at our table who attends this event every year pointed out these kind of events are a bit of a rare find but such a great night out and a wonderful chance to really dress up. The ****** was good fun and I'm looking forward to seeing the photos taken on the night when they're ready to view. Thank you to all the amazing staff who worked so hard to make this such a wonderful evening. Can't wait til the next one.
