The Ranch Motel

Terrible experience. Sadly I had really wanted to stay here for a couple of years because of the retro architecture and recent remodel. I had read a few reviews where people’s reservations were canceled without notice and thought they were one offs. Nope. It happened to us!!! We were 20min away after a long drive and called to inform them we were running late. No local pickup just transferred to an out of area call center. The call center informed us we had no reservation for the night and, when pressed, they said we had been cancelled!! When pressed further to explain why, we were told the motel was “unexpectedly closed”. This involved multiple transfers just to get this much explanation. No further information, and insufficient effort was made to make up for NOT CALLING YOUR CLIENTS! Ugh. So RUDE! (And I don’t mean the helpless call center folks!!) OYO is a joke. Do not reserve here with them since they won’t value YOU, your $ or your time. I’m sure the property is “cool” but I will never book at this place as long as it’s owned and operated by these folks.

We stayed here a couple of years ago and liked it, looks like it's owed by Oyo now. Little individual A-frames. No shared walls. Chairs outside. Very cute and retro. Definitely an older motel, but well maintained. Too bad the adjoining restaurant is shut down (was last time we were here, too). Closest place to eat is Pilot, which has a Denny's and a Subway. Not much else around, so plan accordingly. Convenient to I-5 and decently priced. We'd stay again!

Love the A-Frame! The owners were so nice and friendly! My kids were so surprised by the inside of our hotel room. They thought it was so cool and unique! The outlet in the bathroom was a bit old and we couldn't charge our electric toothbrush with one of the sockets. But overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Ranch Motel.

Was clean but smelled of pets. Everything worked.

The Owners/Managers were the best I’ve come across!! Lisa went above and beyond to help us. She was professional, interested, positive, cheerful, and conscientious.

What a little gem of a property. I was so exhausted when I arrived late Wednesday night and was warmly greeted by the owners. They take pride in there property and have renovated the rooms to a super clean and comfortable standard. The bed mattress felt new and the room had no smells whatsoever except for how lovingly it was cleaned and prepared for the tired travellers who come to this spot on the highway reserved mostly for a truck stop down the way, which has a Dennys and a decent convenience store for loading up on roadtrip food. I appreciated the incredible night sleep so much I decided to take a day off from driving and do some work. My second night stay was just as good as the first. Will definitely stay here again!
