Comfort Inn Oak Ridge - Knoxville

Only Stay at the Comfort Inn Rutgers Ave Oak Ridge, TN you want to get Arrested and Charged with Criminal Trespassing for checking out an hour late. I’m an RN and was traveling on business when I stayed at this hotel. March 5-9, 2024. I spoke with various staff through out the 4 days when leaving to work and returning each night. The last day, Saturday, I spoke with housekeeping at approximately 12:00 and explained I was running behind and would be out ASAP. Housekeeping said “OK”. I then received a call to my room, I answered and could hear them, but they didn’t say I word. I said hello again and nothing. They hung up the phone. I assumed they were confirming that I was up and moving. I then got in the shower. Then hotel staff repeatedly called my room and banged on the door harassing me. I could hear them yelling but not what they were saying - I was in the shower and had the vent running. At some point, they called the police who busted in my room door!! I wasn’t even an hour past check out time, 12:00, when this happened. They told the police I was 4 days past check out. My company stays with this hotel on a semi -regular basis. They had my credit card on file. There was no reason to call the police. I have never been so embarrassed and humiliated in my life. I was charged with criminal trespassing even after I explained I was not 4 days past due. I’ve had to retain an attorney for $2,000 and have to go to court as a result. Of course, the hotel also banned me from ever staying there again. That will not be a problem. Fortunately I had proof of my itinerary and receipt of payment. All charges were dropped 3/21/24. The hotel staff had no problem charging our card and including $150 for damages for busting in the door - the receipt was in my email within 30 minutes of my leaving the property. Corporate would only say that they contacted the property manager to make sure this wouldn’t happen to anyone else in the future, then happily asked me if I wanted to earn an extra 250 bonus points just by staying on the line and listening to their vacation options!!

The first room I was given the toilet didn't work. In both rooms I was in only half the 30-some cable TV channels worked, the TV telling the user that the channels have a 'weak signal". Oddly (or perhaps not), FOX News was the ONLY channel in the building for which the volume didn't work. The rest of the hotel appears to be fine, if things like toilets and TVs working don't bother you.

Please be careful with this hotel. I now have to dispute charges on my checking account.,I reserved with a card but switched to another card upon check in ( not knowing the “ card system was done and would be charged next day”) meanwhile charges went thru on original card. In attempts to fix it, the staff recharged me then again tried closing one reservation and rebooking. End result getting a pending charge including early cancellation fee pending ( amounting to $780 pending” and original $420 coming out on both cards. So while moving my account was short $1200 until this gets resolved I was told by manager and Choice up to 21 days! All this for a three night stay!

Great hotel. Front desk personnel were very friendly and answered all of our question. Check-in and check-out were very easy. By chance our granddaughter and her college rowing teams were staying there also which is why we came to Oak Ridge, so we had a great time. Room was very quiet and everything worked well. The bed was very comfortable and clean. We definitely would stay there again if we were ever back in Oak Ridge.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Oak Ridge, TN while attending a local college athletic event over a few days. Upon arrival we noted that the color of the outside of the hotel was different than in the photos online, what was tan and gray was now blue and white, that should have been a clue. Upon arrival we were greeted by the desk clerk who quickly issued us our room key and checked us in. As we exited the elevator on the 3rd floor we heard hammering, sawing, banging and very loud music. Upon closer inspection it was clear that the floor and the rooms were being renovated. The construction workers had to move tools, carts and furniture to allow us to access our room. We immediately went to the front desk and asked to be moved to another floor. We were more than a bit put off with the hotel for putting us in a room on a floor with on going renovations, and not even mention it upon check in. The hotel staff placed us into another room on the 4th floor, while there was no construction, the room was old, worn and clearly in need of, yep you guessed it, a renovation. Clearly the hotel should be closed until the renovations are completed, continuing to book guests while trying to upgrade the hotel does not seem to the answer.

Stayed here two nights to run the half marathon. I found the breakfast staff to be delightful and the food was okay. Our room was clean but needs maintenance. There were many issues but none so serious for us to abandon the room. The items included were: very noisy exhaust fan, broken coffee maker, mirror losing its silver backing, left over screws on wall (a safety hazard), loose faucet, ceiling plaster loose, paint falling off, closet door unhinged, etc. The exterior of the building was being repainted. They should have worked on the interiors first.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! At best the room was dirty and nasty, at worst it was covered in black mold. We paid extra for a room with a sofa. Sofa was unusable as the hotel had removed the internal mattress. Have attempted to work with hotel and Choice Privileges to resolve since time of stay. (10/26/2022 - 10/27/2022) From the time of checkout the front desk and/or hotel receptionist have been stating a manager is not available but they will call us back. The manager has yet to return the call or be available. Choice Privileges are either unwilling or unable to resolve as they consistently refer to the hotel manager. We definitely will not return to this location. And may never return to any CHOICE HOTEL again. I would like to state that wife and I are both long-term Choice Privileges members (2006 and before)

Price was reasonable. Beds were clean and comfortable. Free full breakfast. Needs updating. Bathroom ceilings and bedroom walls were damaged. Make sure you give the confirmation number (or numbers) at the desk. We booked through ******* and it was the only way to find the rooms.

I stayed in room 223 at the comfort inn in oak ridge. Let's get the only bad thing I found, out of the way first, there was no stopper in the bathtub. This is not the first comfort inn I've stayed in that didn't have one, not sure what the deal is with that. The room was clean, all staff were very very friendly. The bed was really comfortable, air conditioner worked great, shower head was good, television was good. When you walked in the foyer they had a thing, don't know what to call it, with lemon ice water. That was a very nice touch, hot day and I was thirsty. Now for the reason I will be going back. The breakfast was unbelievable. Everything was fresh and everything tasted fantastic. They had the normal cereals place to make your waffles biscuit and gravy the eggs were immaculate and the bacon was cooked perfect and had a great flavor. So you're if you're in oak ridge or in Knoxville and want a good breakfast, this is the place to stay.
