Adorable Cottage By the Sea - Ocean View - 1/2 Block Walk to Beach - Fenced Yard

We’d love for your happy beach memories to be made here at our cottage by the sea, The Whimsy Whale. Our island cottage is perfectly placed under a canopy of magnificent live oaks, just steps away from the ocean. Nestled on a quiet beach access street, central to all the best attractions, shopping and eateries on Oak Island; close to nearby Southport. Public sidewalks along E Oak Island Drive make it easy to walk or bike to your favorite spots. Our classic cottage has been recently renovated and cheerfully decorated. With 1212 square feet and an open floor plan, there is plenty of space for you to comfortably relax. There are two living/entertaining areas in the home, both centrally connected through the galley kitchen. Two bedrooms provide enough sleeping arrangements for 4 guests. The master bedroom offers a queen bed, television and private en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom offers two twin beds (one is a trundle with an extra memory foam topper). Two full bathrooms with walk-in showers. Linens are provided (sheets, towels/washcloths) along with shampoo and soap. A full-size washer and dryer is available just off the master bedroom. If you decide to cook in during your stay, the kitchen has all the essentials you’ll need - refrigerator, oven, microwave dishwasher, pots/pans, utensils, coffee pot, dishes. A roll of paper towels will be provided, along with dish soap and detergent. Cable TV, wi-fi, bluetooth speaker along with some games, books and puzzles are available for your enjoyment. The spacious fully-fenced backyard with hammock and outdoor seating offers the perfect place to relax while children and pets safely play. A deck off the side of the cottage faces the ocean - an ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee, enjoy dinner off the grill, or watch the sun set while listening to the relaxing sounds of the nearby ocean. A private, outdoor shower is available. Driveway parking available. The Whimsy Whale cottage is family owned and operated. It is one of our favorite places to spend time together and we look forward to sharing it with you, your loved ones and friends.
