It is a bit far from the city center. It is a very British-style hotel. The small garden is beautifully trimmed, the room is clean, and there is a balcony. It faces the tea garden. It is quiet at night and the air is fresh in the morning. I like this hotel. The hotel provides a buffet dinner with many varieties. Breakfast is also a buffet, with not many varieties. Very good British service.

As soon as I entered the door, I was given a family room with 2 beds. After communicating with me, the staff had an attitude of being dissatisfied even though they gave you a better room. They showed me the originally booked room and I felt it was really not worth the price. . It is recommended that it is more convenient to stay in Nuvo.

We stayed at MKC as part of a pre-arranged tour with House of Travels, via Voyage Prive. Their hotel choices were largely excellent but while MKC was pleasant, it was not one of the highlights. Pros: The staff were courteous and the room clean and spacious. Cons: The facilities were a little dated and lacking (no pool although the cooler temperatures might not make it as necessary), the dining area was small and the range of food limited and very touristy - much more than the other places we stayed - with a definite push towards German palates. The food we had was fine. It is also situated a little further out from the town and walking down to the lake will take a good hour (through streets riddled with various dogs, stray and otherwise).

Lovely grounds & colonial style hotel & room . Rooms could do with an upgrade without taking away its style , but had a good nights sleep . Stayed half board and the food was excellent as were the restaurant & bar staff . Drinks reasonably priced. Equipment in room needs replacing …,very old hair dryer , old iron with black scorch marks meant unable to use & ironing board was ancient ! Apart from this an enjoyable stay with reasonable prices for drinks .

I recently visited Mirage King Cottage and was very disappointed with the service. The plates were not clean, and the staff at both the front office and the restaurant were unprofessional. I don't know their names, but one of the restaurant manager and front office lady manager were even talking about us while we were there, which was extremely embarrassing. The overall attitude of the staff was very poor. Especially in the hospitality industry, staff members need to be more polite, respectful, and professional.

Curieux mélange de style anglais et sri lankais. très joli parc accueil sympathique, joli petit salon de style anglais. notre chambre, dans le bâtiment principal était très sobrement décorée, présence d'un radiateur d'appoint car les soirées sont fraiches à cette altitude. La salle de restaurant est quelconque; et la cuisine ne laisse pas un souvenir impérissable.

On the outskirts of town set in attractive grounds. Felt like it was a genuinely old colonial building set in an authentic residential area with vegetable plots in the area below the hotel. The hotel has maximised the outdoor areas so you can sit outside and enjoy the cooler air, an extra layer of clothing is definitely needed in the evening or early morning. (The shops in Nuwara Eliya can meet all those needs at good prices). My room was comfortable and everything clean and serviceable apart from the iron which someone had burned.If possible they should try to change the layout in the bar area. It is a small space which is nice and snug but the large chairs reduce the numbers of people who can sit there, some bench furniture would maximise space better.The food was of good quality, the take away breakfast they supplied one of the best we had on our tour. Budget accordingly for alcohol, the prices here for bottles of wine were slightly more than any others we encountered.
