This is the one and only Boutique hotel we stayed during our tour around the country. We felt the difference when we arrived at the site with a contemporary welcome. This is at Nanu Oya, about 15 minutes’ drive away from Nuwara Eliya Town towards Thalawakele. We had to change the allocated room as the view was a bit obstructed. It is a small hotel with about 14 rooms in total with few room categories in an old bungalow. There was a temperature controlled (manually) stunning swimming pool in this hill country. Garden was very nicely decorated. They have their own vege garden in the hotel itself. Meals were very good. There was a heater but no Air Conditioner in the room as it’s in Nuwara Eliya, but we felt too hot in the nighttime and had to use the fan. It was a different experience for us. Well run and friendly hotel with good food and staff. Small and cosy, well positioned and is great for a few nights. Spa is small but gave good massages and swimming pool warm if a little small. Overall would recommend - only ask is that they vary the lounge / dining area background music more often as 25 times on repeat can jar!

We stayed at the Langdale Boutique Hotel at the end of October 2024. The hotel impressed us with its views, interior and friendly staff. Imagine, you are having breakfast on the terrace with wide windows, behind which there is an amazingly beautiful landscape - green tea plantations, small villages, country roads. Everything is like a toy. Then you go for a walk along the road around the hills, where even more beautiful views open up. We did not have time to take photos. We wanted to capture every moment of our walk. After the walk, you swim in the pool and in front of you are heavenly meadows. There is a wonderful spa here that will allow you to completely relax and dissolve in nature. Thanks to the hotel staff for their hospitality and help. We would like to come back here again.

A step back into colonial Sri Lanka. A boutique hotel that is a perfect location for a tea plantation walk or visit. Surrounded by many tea plantations this is a perfect place to stay, the hotel only has a few rooms of which ours (deluxe) was excellent, The staff were attentive, a separate bar and great views over the garden for breakfast and dinner. It is a pool that can be kept at body temperature if you let the staff know you are going to use it, plus there is a mini golf area to use. All in all Janet and I loved our stay here at Langdale especially as Aloka was always at hand to assist.

The staff at this hotel couldn’t have looked after us any better and nothing was too much of an ask. Anoj, Shashila, Ravindu and Aloka did everything to make our stay a lovely experience, even organising us some off menu dinner. The hotel is a really nice homestay, and really feel at home. Would definitely visit again. The view from the pool over the hills is definitely not to be missed.

One of the best property with awesome food and the cooking brought out all the flavors. Staff was soft spoken and the rooms was very clean and comfortable. After long drive it was worth to be here and enjoy with nature . Quality time spent with family.

Alles vanaf het moment van aankomen tot aan het vertrek was een prachtige ervaring . De gastvrijheid en de oprechte vriendelijkheid van het personeel is gewoonweg heel fijn om te ervaren. De kamer 205 is heel mooi , met adembenemend uitzicht over de vallei en theevelden. Het diner was erg lekker en met zorg bereid. Na ons heerlijke ontbijt deze maakte we een hele mooie wandeling door de theeplantages rondom het estate. Nog even lekker liggen bij het verwarmde zwembad, voordat we netjes werden uitgezwaaid door het lieve personeel, die ons nog wat lekkers meegaven voor onderweg. Jammer dat we maar 1 nacht konden blijven. Dit hotel is een echte aanrader.

Everything about this boutique hotel was wonderful. We had a warm welcome and there was always someone to help us get whatever we needed. The pool was beautifully warm and we had an unforgettable afternoon swimming in the pouring monsoon rain. Everyone was prepared to go the extra mile, from Shashila on the reception desk to Selvi in the spa and the executive chef who made up our favourite coconut buns especially for us. General manager Fouzi Mohideen even arranged a private tea tasting at the Somerset Estate, which was lead by the regional manager and turned into a 2 hour 'master class' on tea growing, manufacture and distribution. The whole team from top to bottom deserve commendation and we will be back.
