Cottage San Francesco

This amazing place offers a beautiful view and is a great choice for staying in the Nuwara Eliya area. We stayed in a King Room with a Mountain View for one night. The room was clean and had a wonderful terrace. Managed by a lovely family, we were greeted with tea upon arrival, and the room was equipped with a heater and a warm blanket—perfect for the cool mountain climate of Nuwara Eliya. Although we arrived late, we were pleased to find that dinner was available. While the menu was limited, it ensured we didn't go to bed hungry. The breakfast was exceptional, one of the best we've experienced in Sri Lanka. Cottage San Francesco is cozy, quiet, and a lovely place to stay. In Noir, the weather on the mountain is relatively cold. There is heating in the house, but the room facilities are a bit old. The hotel is very beautiful, with a British-style design, a green roof and white walls. It is very beautiful.

Lake Gregory
WOW! We stopped here last minute as we changed some travel plans due to illness and not being able to climb Adams Peak. We had terrible colds and wanted somewhere to just relax and to be honest, be looked after. I am so pleased we went to W15 Gregory house - the reviews were positive and I was not disappointed. The attention to detail the staff consider is brilliant. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Jay and a fresh drink and refreshment towel shortly arrived too. The rooms are very spacious and the décor is charming. The showers have good pressure and the spa toiletries smelt delightful and were of great quality. The atmosphere in the lake house really does feel you have stepped back in time in British history and there is such a beautiful homely feel about the place. We dropped our bags off and headed out to the lawn for some lunch - all arranged via WhatsApp and our butler who was very attentive and eager to make our stay enjoyable. Due to some allergies, the chef made some adjustments to the menu and we enjoyed club sandwiches which were the best we have ever had (and I mean much better than in the UK!). We then retreated back to the room, popped on Netflix and dosed ourselves up on medicine to try and rest. The beds are very comfortable and the Butler brought fresh honey for our coughs, and water whenever required. We booked to have dinner on the veranda and we honestly blown away by the dinner - the presentation and array of flavours on one plate was fabulous. When we returned to our room, the rooms had been turned down and a hot water bottle was placed on each side of the bed - as I say, every detail is considered. The butler also brought two hot chocolates 20 minutes later which ended our day very well. This hotel is slightly more than others in the area but it is really worth it. The pool is heated and slightly on the small side, but enough to have a relax. The view of the lake is also lovely. We only stayed one night due to availability but I felt so rested when we left.

This hotel has a stunning location on the edge of a steep valley with amazing views. The rooms were very comfortable with air conditioning that worked. The food was good and the dining room has similar views of the valley. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a small private balcony outside each room.

Honestly this is the best hotel in the area in every aspects. Highly recommend for those who are planning to hike/worship Sri Padaya mountain. Rooms were neat, tidy, spacious and having a balcony with amazing view of the sacred mountain. Also all sufficient basic amenities there for a comfortable stay. We have faced a little uncomfortable situation due to couple of limit crossed drunken guys in bar. But it was not a fault of the hotel neither staff. Staff was super amazing and did they best to make our stay comfortable. Have to mention that Mr. Mano made our stay so remarkable. Special credit goes to Mr. Mano and the team. Foods were really delicious and proper hygienic conditions were well maintained! Gave a 5 stars specially because of the hospitality!! Cheers!!
