Z Hotel is located in the perfect spot, especially for those stunning sunsets on the rooftop bar! Everything is conveniently located and easy to make yourself feel at home. I was very happy with the level of service and how cosy and safe everything felt - you almost don't need to leave the hotel! Days spent in the pool, with a Serengeti in hand, watching the sun set will be etched in my brain! Also easy access to both sides of the beach, and felt like the best spot to be in the area. Great meal options and if you are up for some horse riding, then the Zanzibar Horse Club is right at your doorstep! Would happily return and feel comfortable throughout the experience. Alos love the attention to detail with interior and exterior. Beautiful spot to be for a short time or a long time!

Beautiful hotel design, stayed in a ocean front cottage and the room was amazing. Plenty of room, comfy bed, lovely bathroom, huge balcony with the best hammock. Staff in all the restaurants and throughout the hotel were amazing. Stables are close by, lovely beach, infinity pool and they have their own tour operators if you want to explore the area

The view from the room to the beach was beautiful, the food in the restaurant „ Sexy Fish“ was excellent. The people were very friendly and the service perfect. Sometimes it was rainy but warm and the tide was high. A marvellous stay!Any time again.

What a beautiful hotel. The staff were fantastic, everyone including the reception staff, housekeeping and maintenance, the security guys and waitresses & waiters were so friendly and helpful. A special mention for the Spa ladies. Our treatments were great. We ate at all three restaurants, including the ice cream place. All were excellent; the food was great, drinks and cocktails were lovely and all reasonably priced. The local shops sell some great stuff and the local community were really friendly. Difficult to pull myself away from the beautiful beach and sea. Love the beach butlers. Thank you for a really lovely break after a full on safari experience… an amazing place to catch my breath. It is literally paradise.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The rooms were spotless, beautifully designed, and equipped with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The food was exceptional, offering a variety of delicious options. The overall ambiance was luxurious yet cozy, making it a perfect place to relax.

10/10 OMG literally the best resort I have ever visited! Everything is top tier, the level of customer service and attention to detail is unreal. Worth every penny! I will surely be back and recommend to anyone visiting Zanzibar :)

The two standouts of the Z Hotel were the friendly and gracious staff (shout out to Emiliana and Latifa), and the superb seafood restaurant Sexy Fish. I ate there twice and on both occasions the recommendations were spot on. The free breakfast buffet was also excellent.
Very cool interior design, with liberal use of tropical themed wallpaper mixed with African fabrics in common areas and guest rooms. Very nice infinity pool overlooking the beach. There are lounge chairs by the pool and on the
beach for hotel guests.
The beach itself is the classic powdered sugar sand and warm aquamarine water, though at times felt a bit congested because of the restaurant projecting out from the hotel on one side of the beach, the small boats anchored in the water, and the traffic of jet skis and horse rides in the water. It's a nice stroll along the beach, but be prepared to deal with locals hawking souvenirs and tours. I found them friendly and not overly aggressive.
If you're looking to buy souvenirs, the hotel is walking distance to a bunch of shops. There are also other restaurants within walking distance if you want to sample food other than what the hotel offers.
