My friend and I came for 3 days and 2 nights and it was great! We arrived around 9am which was way before the check in time and they accommodated us so well and gave of coffee and fruit while they set up our room early! The room was way better than what we ever expected. The AC was the first we’ve had in our whole month stay in Tanzania! The room was spacious, had patio seating private to the room, a great bathroom, and very nice decor! Breakfast was good and the staff was extremely kind and accommodating to any needs. The location is great and a 5 minute walk to the beach and a great restaurant called Maisha that we ate at almost every night. The area felt very safe too! Even at the end of our trip our flight was at 10pm and they let us leave our bags at the hotel while we spent our day at the beach, and even let us come back to change and wait until our taxi came! Overall a great stay for a great price, we were so glad to have gotten the chance to stay here!

1. Rudeness and indifference from the manager: the first night, he woke us up to retrieve some suitcases hidden under the bed, using the excuse of an immediate departure due to his sick mother. It was an excuse, because the same thing happened shortly thereafter with another couple near our room, to whom he gave another reason. Out of fear (the entrance to the property, from the street, is always open and unguarded), we couldn't sleep again. We agreed to a refund for the first night through one of the receptionists, but this was ultimately denied, without being able to confront him. 2. Water almost always missing: we waited until the second day for a shower with intermittent water that was impossible to mix (either boiling hot or freezing cold). 3. The shower tray was broken into several pieces, with the risk of cutting ourselves. 4. The much-vaunted fast WiFi didn't work. I had to use up my mobile data. 5. As mentioned in point 1, the entrance is always open (the gate is broken) and faces the street, frequented at night by unsavory people. 6. No warning about leaving objects and food on the porch, due to the presence of monkeys. 7. Since we didn't have a master key, we had to leave the key with the staff, who "forgot" it in the lock outside... so anyone from the outside could enter undisturbed. 8. Staff without any training: very young, very kind, but unprepared girls.

On the surface, everything seems fine! The young and kind girl who greets you is a thriving garden of papayas and other trees, the room is spacious, and the bathroom is even large. Yet, upon closer inspection, everything falls apart: _the shower tray is missing, appearing in a thousand shards; _the concept of cleanliness is gone, as the towels and sheets are covered in stains of every kind, including dried bird poop; _any welcome and kindness is gone as soon as you express that something is wrong, since the girls on staff are not adequately trained; as for the manager, I know he exists because he woke me up during the night to retrieve his suitcases from under my bed, but I never had the chance to meet him again, having made sure not to show up again following the complaints I made to his employees the next morning; _any chance of a shower is gone: the water, if and when it is there, comes out in fits and starts; you get burned or freeze; All Wi-Fi connections were lost: my iPhone never managed to connect to the local network; my partner's iPhone mostly had to use its own mobile data because the Wi-Fi was either too slow or nonexistent. It's worth noting that Zanzigo boasts a fast internet connection. We missed the opportunity to swim within a reasonable time because the hotel is just minutes from the beach, but this first stretch isn't suitable for swimming, primarily because the tides are so strong here, similar to those on the east coast of Zanzibar, and also because the seabed is covered in meters of seaweed. After all, this is the area where fishermen leave their catches starting at 6 p.m. To swim, you have to walk for at least half an hour, and if the tide is high, you can't just go along the beach; you have to go part of the way into the village. Cholesterol levels skyrocketed, considering that every morning the breakfast option is eggs, with a choice between scrumble or omelette; Security was completely lacking: the entrance gate was broken, meaning it was always open, day and night, with no surveillance; monkeys, unannounced, jumped in and out of the garden, carrying off whatever they found. So, if you're passing through Nungwi, please skip this disgusting place altogether!

Excellent!! I recommend this hotel. Our stay was perfect. Mounir and his team are incredibly kind, caring, attentive, available, and responsive. We were sad to leave them. At the Zanzigo Hotel, you feel like you're staying with family. The rooms are very clean and well-equipped. Breakfast is complete. The beach is just a stone's throw away. The hotel is across from the Baraka Aquarium. There are restaurants nearby. Mounir finds a solution to every problem. He has an answer for every question. Don't hesitate! Mounir is much more than a host. He knows how to remain discreet while always being available. We have traveled to the four corners of the world, and this is the first time we have had a host as admirable as him! Really THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Mounir, you have entered our hearts. Thank you also to Anita and the other members of the team, who are always very kind. We highly recommend ++++++++

We stayed 4 nights in Zanzigo. The hotel is very well located. The breakfast was very generous. Mounir has very good advice. He helped us retrieve sneakers we had forgotten in Zanzigo. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and the air conditioning worked.
