We had plans to go to the beach, but due to a typhoon, we changed our plans and went to Nozawa Onsen, which we had always wanted to visit. There were many options for accommodation, but we chose this hotel because it had good reviews and we could eat delicious beef. Our purpose in Nozawa Onsen this time was to visit the hot springs, so we were grateful that we could check in from 1pm. The parking lot was a little far away, but that was no problem at all. We didn't make a very greedy plan, but when we arrived at the room, it seemed to be very spacious and nice, which we were grateful for. The food was also good and sufficient for those who drink alcohol. We were grateful for the warm hospitality, including explanations about visiting the hot springs and a guide to a place where you can see fireflies at night. As a hot spring inn, the hot springs in the building are important, but there is only one indoor bath. The size is not large, but personally I think that if it is too big, the water will not be replaced, so I think it is just the right size considering the capacity of the inn. Most of the water in the outdoor public bath was too hot and needed to be added, but this one was at the right temperature. They say they use a heat exchanger instead of adding water. Even though there is only one bathtub, it is fun to visit the baths outside, so I have no complaints. This was my first time at Nozawa Onsen, but I think it is a place to enjoy the hot springs (and skiing in winter) rather than sightseeing. Kumano Tearaiyu is right in front of the hotel, and many of the public baths in the area have their own hot springs, so I think the location is good if you are planning to visit the baths for a two-day stay. Thank you for allowing us to use the parking lot for free after we checked out so that we could visit the baths.
