Best Staff I've encountered in any hotel, rooms were extremely comfortable, I accidentally left a shirt in the closet and when UPS didn't show up they went out of their way to take it to the UPS store and drop it off, good breakfast and great location

Stayed here during the Ceramic Expo 2024. I registered late for the conference so I didn't actually get to stay at any of the preferred hotels. I pick this one through my company's Concur booking program. I got a standard king room for three nights. My travel plans changed and I had to check out a night early, got charged for three because of the booking that I made through the program. Not the hotels fault, but irritating. The hotel itself is kind of tired and old, so I can understand why I got a decent rate. It was under construction in the breakfast area, but this was not too much of an inconvenience, just made it kind of crowded. The staff was super friendly and very nice. The pool is very small, almost like a big bathtub. Exercise facilities are also small, but they are well equipped with nice machines. Overall the value I got was not what I paid for, but I'm sure the rates were inflated because of the trade show. If you can get this place for 110 to $130 a night You're doing okay, because it is an old and tired place. I think I paid 170 ish because of the trade show, a little too much for this place on a normal evening

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY! Here's why I can't recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Novi. After check-in we couldn't get back in from the back lot with our arms full of baggage. We had to wait until someone was exiting to sneak in. Then we couldn't get into our 2nd floor room, so trekked back down to reception for key card reprogramming which, we were told, was our fault because key cards are sensitive and should be treated as such. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY! We stayed here so we wouldn't have to drive home from a wedding. It's nice they have shuttle service, but it's not nice to plan on using it just to be told that it and the other shuttles are full. Members of our party scrambled for Ubers. Some had to drive after all, which defeated our purpose of both staying the night AND taking a shuttle. When we asked front desk what we should have done differently, the girl explained that they outsourced their shuttles, which still didn't answer our stranded-a** question. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY! At least after breakfast we could count on a swim and hot tub. After several failed attempts, again, it seemed, we had broken our sensitive keycards to get in the pool, so my wife took it for reprogramming to learn that the keycards were fine but the pool was not. It was closed to be sanitized. Standing in the lobby in our swimsuits, we learned that it gets a lot of use prior to Sunday mornings. When asked if it made sense to put up a "Closed" sign, reception told us that's why they lock the door. This loops us back nicely to the start of my review. Online checkout is convenient, and conveniently eliminates an opportunity for a manager to ask about our stay; we certainly struck out with the front desk and with our experience at the Novi Holiday Inn Express. I'm inspired to write about two reviews a year. Almost all are positive. Based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend trying your luck at this hotel until they get a few more things in line.

First off I gave the GM a month before I posted this review. They never called us. We came to town to do a bbq competition. Our stay here was one of the worse lodging experiences I’ve ever had. Upon arrival the woman at the front desk was overwhelmed and rude. We waited over 40 minutes to get to the counter. The lady couldn’t find our reservation. Then she said it was canceled. It took her forever to check us in. Very condescending. So once we were checked in our reservation surfaced then they marked us as a no show. The next day my wife and son were at the pool and our room was re-rented. They gave a key to our room to the new guest. They entered our room when we were not there. Our personal belongings could have easily been stolen. Once my wife and son return from the pool our door was wide open. She then found out what happened and called the front and they didn’t even have us listed as the occupants. I was away and didn’t find out till later that evening. I asked to speak w the manager and they told us none on duty. Then when we checked out we asked to speak to the GM and we’re told they would call us. They never did. Our credit card was charged twice for our two day visit. We had to dispute the charges. People were knocking on our door all night looking for the other people that they rented the room to. This was an absolute disaster. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone. In all my years staying at hotels I’ve never had someone come into my room w a key. The front desk clerk who checked us in should be fired. I feel we should have gotten a reimbursement. Don’t stay here…

Don't stay here! My husband and I are regular users of Holiday Inn Express and by far this place was an embarrassment to the company. We arrived to find a broken jar of salsa all over the lobby (glass and all) and no one doing anything about it though we stood in line for a good 10 minutes and mess still there an hour later when we came down though glass picked up. This morning leaving elevator covered in a purple spill of some kind that was dried all over the elevator floor.The room was old and broken down (cracked shower shelf, no USB plugs except on back of TV). You could also hear people and kids talking and yelling up and down our hallway and water rushing down the wall regularly ( not sure if flushing toilets or showers pipe behind our wall). Not to mention complimentary coffee station lights out and coffee empty. This location is definitely not up to the standards that we are used too and would never chose there again as rewards members. I should also mention that the front desk was not covered for most of our overnight stay. Someone there when we checked in and checked out but no one in between so don't check in later in the evening. There a ton of hotels in the area so avoid this one.

We picked this hotel because it was close to where we needed to be, and we had read that it had been renovated within just the past year. While the lobby and common areas appeared relatively bright and fresh, our 3rd floor room looked like it had some hard use if it was renovated recently. The headboard on the bed was scuffed in several areas and the mattress sagged significantly down in one corner. The bed also creaked badly whenever someone got into it and felt like it might collapse in the middle of the night. When we first arrived in our room, the mirror on the wall of the bedroom was hanging from its mounting at a 30-degree angle. When we tried to fix it, the mountings came off the wall entirely and we had to set the mirror on the floor. It was odd that housekeeping did not note it to be fixed for repair before we checked in. The freezer in the refrigerator looked like it had not been defrosted in years and was basically unusable, with several inches of ice built up in it (see photo). Some of the TV channels also seemed have poor or spotty or reception. For some reason, both our room key cards repeatedly stopped working each day and had to be re-programmed. On the positive side, the front desk staff that we interacted with were all very nice and helpful. Complimentary hot breakfast was provided each morning in the lobby. It was nothing fancy but was typical for a 2 or 2-1/2-star hotel. But, with the deficiencies we encountered in our room, there are definitely better 2 and 3-star hotels within a couple miles of this one.

I saw some negative reviews and did not see any of the previous concerns here. Everything seems very new, even new carpet smell in the hallways. Our room was clean in the beds were super comfortable. I’ve stayed at a lot of Holiday Inn express hotels and this one is definitely a good choice. Breakfast was basic (scrambled eggs, sausage and Turkey sausage, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, breads/bagels, cereals, yogurt and pancake)—standard fare.

The hotel was under renovation when I arrived, a little item I hadn't been advised of when reserving, so the halls were covered with plastic runners on the carpets, workmen were scraping the walls, the vending room had been dismantled. My room was a battered mess. The headboard cushion had been removed, leaving gaping holes and scratches behind, and the other furniture was similarly nicked up. The refrigerator thermostat was broken. The wallpaper was peeling. The bathroom sink fixture was loose. I learned, after 3 days of the room's being ignored, that there is no housekeeping service unless it is specifically requested, and the customer is not directly asked whether he wants it or not. The free breakfast is excellent, but overall, I left this place behind with relief.

Can’t believe they call this a “brand new” hotel. It looks very worn, and hall carpets looked dirty. They are renovating—glad to see that. Maybe it will be a nice place eventually. Staff was good. But I was disappointed with our actual accommodations.
