Courtyard Boston Norwood/Canton

We stayed recently using Bonvoy points after a concert at Xfinity Center, about 20 minutes away (without the line of cars getting in). It is located in an office park, so nothing nearby in walking distance, but plenty of places back on the main road. As mentioned by others, the rooms (we were on first floor) are in need of updates. Doors and furniture is chipped. Our room was quiet. Fortunately is was a cool enough evening so we could just run the room fan, as the AC was very noisy. Comfortable bed. They did have the scratchiest towels I’ve ever seen. Staff was pleasant. Whoever takes care of the front entrance flowers does an awesome job.

My recent visit to the Courtyard Notwood/Canton left me a bit dissatisfied. The hotel is clean and well taken care of but is in desperate need of an update. The dated furniture did not contribute to a welcoming or comfortable atmosphere. Once in my room, I felt like I was in a MOTEL. What struck me the most was the absence of amenities that one would expect in a hotel of any caliber. The room lacked modern conveniences, and the furniture seemed like it had seen better days. The room was quiet and the staff were friendly enough. If you desire modern conveniences, attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere, I would strongly advise against choosing this particular establishment. My stay at Courtyard Notwood/Canton served as a stark reminder of the importance of updated rooms. I think this property has the potential but just needs some sprucing up.

First off the property is very dated. The bathroom was old, and the set up was poor. No counter space, no dressing space, etc and a tiny closet in the bathroom area. And all of it was very dated. The TV looked smaller than my computer monitor, and the picture and sound quality much worse. Its 1980's tv signal. There is no excuse for this -- its 2023 not the 1990s. Carpet is old, hallways dated, etc. But, they charge very high prices and I dont know how they get away with it. I know breakfasts are not included in Courtyards (they should be) but it was way too expensive. $12 for coffees and a muffin. To top it off they charge for parking -- be warned its $5 per night to park your car in what is a suburban office/corporate area. Its not a gated or even covered lot. Its not even a well lit lot (we parked in total darkness). Its not a guarded lot. But they charge you. Unfortunately it doesnt look like there are a lot of other choices to stay nearby, but I would look hard before I stayed here again. I feel so ripped off. And if the property's response is that they are renovating soon, what good does that do to us that already paid thinking we were getting Marriott Courtyard quality.

The good: Room was reasonably clean and the beds were satisfactory and the front desk staff were very nice. However overall the room was in poor repair and the sink and closet areas were tiny (see photo) and absolutely unacceptable for a room with even 1 guest let alone the 4 it could legally house. The sink area had no room for toiletries so fixing hair and makeup had to occur at the weird desk area with a hand mirror and horrible lighting as there was no mirror at all in the bedroom area. The sink and closet were a fraction of the size shown in the website pictures. Our luggage had to stay in the room floor because there was no way it fit in the closet. Electrical outlets over the only bedside table (between the double beds) were so loose they wouldn’t hold the plugs in place to our CPAPs so we had to run the cords across the mattress behind the pillows from wall plugs on the opposite side of the bed. The hang up button on the phone is broken and stuck all the way down so when we needed to use the room phone we had to pry it up with a nail file to get dial tone. The shower curtain isn’t wide enough to cover the entire shower and kept sagging in the middle causing water in the floor. The towels were incredibly thin and rough as if they were line dried. And the biggest annoyance of all is we had to have our keys reprogrammed multiple times while we were there because according to three different front desk members the keys become deprogrammed if they are placed by a cell phone or other electronic device. We’ve used lots of electronic keys and never had to be sure to segregate our key cards from anything. If the management saw how many people we ran into over the weekend who were annoyed by being unable to get in the rear door or their rooms they would fix that immediately. We were there for a wedding weekend and supposedly got a better block room rate than normal but family who stayed at a nearby Holiday Inn Express had MUCH better rooms, free breakfast, free parking and their rate was significantly less. I am a long time Marriott traveler but would have moved to a different hotel had we been staying for more than 3 days. I keep reading they are going to renovate but I saw no signs of that on the side of the hotel we stayed on although they did appear to be working on a drainage issue in the back.

Way overpriced!!! The bed was hard, the blanket was thin, I called down for another, and I was asked rudely if there was one in the closet (I already checked thank you). For this price they should have a pool, and complementary breakfast to say the least. They had people in the courtyard being obnoxiously loud until I had to call down at 12:30am to ask about quiet hours. Never in all the times I've spent in hotels have I had to ask, and I gave them ample time to take care of the issue. There is absolutely no way that the staff did not hear them. If they want to be competitive and charge this, they need to update their rooms, no microwave.....the TV was small, and the selection of stations was very minimal. Oh and the whole design of the hotel was like a maze, with the elevator being in the worst spot I've ever seen. And the 2nd floor ice machine wasn't even working. Not impressed...$700. for two nights....the last time I've spent that much for stay was at Disney. This certainly wasn't magical.

Sorry but Marriott must of left this place off the list or forgot to remodel the location. The only thing updated in this small, two story hotel is the lobby. Everything from the hallways to the rooms to the courtyard is dated and falling apart and in need of serious upgrading and repairs. This location sits off of the auto mile on route 1 in Norwood and is tucked inside an industrial park. The hotel is small, maybe 1.5 floors. The lobby looks up to date with latest Marriott Bonvoy standards and contains a coffee bar and even computer stations and seating. The staff here is friendly and accommodating, however once you leave the lobby and start walking around this place, you will quickly see how bad a shape its in. Even the room doors are broken and old and the inside of the rooms are just bad paint jobs, old bathroom fixtures, old lamps and lights and chipping paint. The rooms are spacious enough but are in need of such an update they dont even look clean. I would skip this dump and look elsewhere down the road. There are about 20 other updated hotels on this road in the same price range. Shame on Marriott for not cleaning this place up.

I stayed here for four nights for a skating competition. The hotel is set back quite a way from the road so it's pretty quiet. There is plentiful parking but you need to go elsewhere for dining. The room was fairly comfortable but it was difficult to get the HVAC to a set, comfortable temperature. It was always either frigid or sweltering. We declined housekeeping but it seemed as if it was one overwhelmed employee who was there from early in the morning until late in the evening. The only other issue we had was that there is practically no insulation between rooms in the hotel so we heard every word spoken in the rooms on either side of us. This hotel is a good choice in the Norwood area.

When I arrived to this hotel for my one night stay, I was warmly greeted by Cloe. 10 minutes before my arrival, I called the hotel and Cloe professionally answered the phone and gave me all the details about my stay. During the check in process, Cloe was very delightful, professional and very friendly. Also Irlene at the front desk was very friendly. It is a pleasure to go to a hotel and feel welcomed and being exposed to people who really care about guests and the hotel. Cloe is a great asset to that property. Great job!
