Hartford Hall on School Lane

Clean and comfortable room. Good service by hotel and restaurant staff. Good emities in room.

Stayed at Hartford Hall for two nights to attend a family wedding in the local area. The service and hotel facilities were excellent and food absolutely delicious. Hotel rooms and public areas were spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Stayed in Hotel, room next to road and not a wink of sleep. Despite being comfortable and clean, you cannot escape the sound of the road. Also it’s the furthest from reception and a hall with even the smallest amount of luggage. I will not stay here again, what a shame.

Stayed here while visiting friends nearby and ate with them in the restaurant in the evening. Excellent room, spacious, clean, quiet and with a big bed for a reasonable price. Sunday evening meal was usual pub comfort food but tasty and with excellent service. My wife enjoyed a Sunday roast an I thought the homemade steak and ale pie was great too. Excellent breakfast menu the next morning. By not including it in the room rate you can have a light breakfast and not feel you were overcharged

We visited hartford Hall Saturday 11th may to sit in the lovely garden enjoy a couple of drinks with a meal. We ordered steak poached pear and Stilton salad fir both of us. The steak was so tough I could not eat it. The kitchen had run out of Stilton and informed us when we ordered we agreed to replace with feta cheese. There was only traces of feta crumbs in the salad complete disappointment. We both had deserts as still hungry. I ordered apricot tart with a crumble topping with lavender oil my daughter ordered white chocolate cheese cake with baileys in the desert. The deserts arrived. My Apriot tart had no flavour of lavender at all. The pastry cade was so hard it shattered when I tried to cut into it. The topping was dry with a consistency of sawdust.my daughters white chocolate cheesecake and baileys cheese cake had no baileys in it. The waiter came to clear down and I told him my desert was awful dry tasteless and my daughters cheese cake had no taste if baileys. He just looked at us giving the standard reply I am sorry to hear that I will give the feedback to the chef and walked off job done. I will not going back to hartford all Aby time soon. Complete waste of money. Shame because lovely garden. Come on hartford hall show you care about your customers.

Lovely Christmas menu - great options, lovely outside area and cozy bar. Would certainly recommend. Staff were friendly and attentive and service was good. Nice wine selection and the food was high quality. Will be booking again in the future.

Amazing Sunday lunch, staff very attentive, nothing was too much trouble for them. We were a table of six and one of the adults managed to spill a whole drink over the table. Staff were there like a shot and cleaned the mess without making us feel embarrassed. There is such a lovely vibe in this place, staff clearly love working there and get along well. Makes for a very enjoyable visit.

Brilliant service and lovely place to drink, it’s a shame I’ve not seen Nick serving me in a while hope to see his face soon. Food was great and drinks on tap were good. Guinness could be cheaper but hey ho you win some you lose some. 10/10 will return. Hollie was nice too

Love this hotel. Great decor and character. Bar is cosy and warm with log fire. Room was nicely decorated. Great details, nice coffee machine, and good quality toiletries, with comfy robes provided. We ate dinner in the restaurant. It was delicious, great quality. I stayed here with my 6 year old, but would also suit couples for romantic cosy evening, or business travel with plenty of quiet areas to work. Service was perfect throughout. Looking forward to staying again.
