We did not spend much time at the hotel as we got in relatively late and had to leave relatively early in the morning. We did enjoy the breakfast which was the usual continental breakfast with waffles. They had some fruit, juice, coffee and yogurt as well. The front desk staff were friendly.

I made my reservations two months in advance. The rates for three nights were $279, $259, and $279, respectively. I decided to check one last time for a better hotel rate in the area, only to find that the same hotel, Country Inn and Suites in Northfield, MN, was now charging $134 per night for the same dates. When I called to get this rate, they would not give it to me. The cancellation period had passed, so I had to stay at this hotel. I could understand paying this rate if an event had been scheduled and they just hadn't booked the rooms, but no event was taking place during these dates. I will never stay at a Country Inn and Suites again! I am very disappointed that the four people I talked to at Choice Hotels would not do the right thing here and give me back the extra $300. Now, Choice Hotels has lost many customers due to its business practices. This is my first BAD review, and I am 55 years old.

Country Inn and Suites in Northfield is clean, newly renovated and my stay was comfortable. But there is nothing that stands out - it is an average, cookie-cutter American hotel with dull furnishings and vending machines. I have no idea how my stay there is worth $230 per night when nothing out of the ordinary was provided.

The hotel staff were great. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The only issue we had was that one of the hotels hot water heaters was not working. The front desk for warned us about it. We could only get luke warm water in the shower.

Very clean, quiet, and convenient- felt very safe. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Close proximity to St. Olaf college and Carleton college campuses. Would stay there again!

It served its purpose, but was too close to a busy main road for me. And, a train track ran right behind it. Still, it’s a fine place to stay while traveling as long as you’re aware.
