When we arrived we were given a room that was not closer to facilities as my wife has a problem with walking to far But this outstanding lady moved us with no fuss the lady name Opiel Ahamet it most definitely put us in good spirits for our stay first class and very happy and helpful

Fab girls break. Staff amazingly helpful from the aquasize guy (think he was called James) who made a special effort to help me as a non swimmer. Thanks. Massimo served us at lunch and breakfast and was impeccably helpful and kind. Jason was our walking guide and he was great even though it was rainy they all brought the sunshine 🌞. This includes your female staff who were a pleasure to deal with, unfortunately we did not get everyone's name but we would like to extend our thanks to all of you and wish that we could list all of you on here thank you. What's a place absolutely well worth a visit the food was simply delicious the experience was entirely relaxing and a real break from it all the ambience was perfect

Average facilities and completely overbooked. No where to sit by pool and sauna on spa day Hot tub constantly had more than max number allowed in it - hardly a treat or relaxing. Had to pay extra for even a cup of tea Will def not be going back - better to go to local gym pool

I had a lovely day with my sister, with whom I usually do a spa day here once a year, as she lives locally. It's always nice to have the opportunity to get away from it all and to have a good catch up. Just a few niggles... It would be helpful to have more seating around the pool if the hotel is going to book in so many visitors whether as residents or day guests. The pool area was the busiest I have ever seen it and we were very lucky to get seats at all - we managed to secure the last two available in the morning, but found it completely full after lunch. Fortunately two other guests left just after we arrived. We saw some having to sit on the tiled wall underneath the window, which looked extremely uncomfortable! As per many a holiday destination, lots of seats were 'reserved' with personal items (including a solitary packet of chocolate buttons in one instance!) for very long periods of time with no sign of the guests who were supposedly using them. It seemed to me that there was space for seats around two of the pool edges, where there is no seating at the moment. It was nice to see the return of the buffet lunch, rather than the set menu, but the food was barely warm, which spoiled the meal somewhat. The croissants offered as part of the spa guest breakfast were also very soft and stale. These days, the place does feel a little bit under-resourced, with only a handful of staff racing around to keep breakfast supplies stocked, replenish towels and toilet rolls etc - we found the same last year. The staff are all lovely and very welcoming, however, in spite of being so busy. Special mention must go to Massimo and Kristina in the restaurant and Oriel in reception. All three are lovely, warm people, who make you feel like a very special guest. We'll definitely be back, but this no longer feels like quite the same luxury experience as it was when we first began visiting and we will only do so again if we can continue to avail ourselves of some kind of special offer/discount - these do seem to be harder to come by now and don't offer such good savings as in the past. Unfortunately, I expect Champneys is still recovering from the impact of Covid, along with trying to manage the current cost of living crisis.

A nice relaxing spa day with an old school friend. Staff all very friendly and helpful. The food was really good at lunchtime with plenty of healthy tasty choices. The pool was large and had a nice setting - you could see out the large windows. Champneys met the brief for us of a relaxing catch up together. One niggle though was whilst we went for a swim there was no where to sit by the pool after. But I can't really blame Champneys for this. Many of the loungers, though vacant, had towels and robes on them. I did spot a couple of unoccupied deck chairs but was very disappointed to discover a bag of sweets had been placed in each one to reserve them (not even a robe or towel). There are plenty of places to sit away from the pool but we'd just had a swim and really wanted to sit down and enjoy the view. There are polite signs around the pool asking people not to do this, but its not something Champneys can easily enforce without affecting the relaxing atmosphere of the spa, and there isn't room for more loungers. So it relies on the goodwill of the spa users to allow others to have their turn. All in all an enjoyable day, we'll probably be back later in the year.

Springs is an extremely friendly , relaxing spa , from management , house keeping, fitness and restaurant/cafe teams , nothing was too much for them x food was excellent, we had dinner , breakfast and lunch x the classes I attended were fun and professionally run and pool area was relaxing and clean x the staff at reception were welcoming and the shopping experience was great (too good if you were to ask my husband 😆) rooms are well equipped, warm and comfortable, public areas are plush and tidy where you can certainly relax and maybe nod off x I would definitely repeat this experience and recommend to family and friends x thank you to all (especially Carol Harvey) who made our stay extra special x

After experiencing Champneys Tring and Henlow in the past we felt confident that we would have a great anniversary weekend enjoying a well curated setting with the signature standard of treatments. In fact we checked out a day early as we have a rule. Never stay anywhere worse than our house. A wellness retreat invites you to spend time in a purpose designed facility looking after yourself but it’s clear that they haven’t looked after the building. I have read that there has been a refurb but couldn’t see where and why do it in same tired 1980’decor. If it wasn’t for the lovely staff and the two and a half hours to get there we would have left the same day. So many stains, on walls ceilings and floors and black mould in our bathroom. Come on champneys, do better.

I have been visiting Springs for 28 years several times a year. The recent refurbishment is top class. The customer service in all areas has always been excellent. The food and restaraunt service has never failed. I particularly enjoyed the Blade of Beef meal. The pool and hydrotherapy pool I use alot and really feel the benefit. Our stay this time was upgraded to a deluxe room and other benifits.Rewarding us for our loyalty, which we appreciated. We always buy a voucher for our next stay, value for money. If you need a place to have some relaxation, time out feel rejuvenated I highly recommend this business. Already looking forward to our next visit.
