The room was so clean and well kept, it felt like we were the first people to stay in it. Daily maid service, plenty of towels by the pool, and every time I went past the front desk there were 1-3 people helping customers. The hotel just feels well run and welcoming. We used the pool 3 days in a row. It was cool the first day, but perfect the second two days. As it says on the website, no hot tub. Our room had a little kitchenette: microwave, fridge, Keurig, and two burners. Handy for preparing snacks and a light breakfast. No pots or pans and only disposable plates, bowls, and cutlery. They may have something to borrow at the desk, but consider bringing what you need if you are really going to cook. Had dinner and drinks at the on-site pub one night. Good service and convenient.

We were excited for our stay that would be the first night of our trip. The price was right but in the end, the hassle made us quickly regret this booking. We arrived around 12:30 am after a lot of travel and were told our room was cancelled and there were none available. The rationale was that the credit card on file was ran through at 11:40 pm and declined (although has worked fine before and after this event). But, they therefore cancelled the room and gave it to someone else for over 100$ more than we paid. No call or email, which would have rectified the situation in one minute, as we could have asked them to try the card again or given a different card. Or at the very least, we would have found somewhere to stay closer to the airport (rather than taking a sky train and an Uber to North Vancouver) if they had notified us that the room was cancelled. I had also called 3 days before our stay informing of a late check in and the gentleman insisted it would be completely fine, he did take my name but the person at check in claimed to be unaware of this. Do not recommend booking this place unless you want to end up with your booking cancelled for reasons out of your control.

The front desk service is enthusiastic (I still do n’t know how to communicate in English), but the service staff will mark the main tourist attractions of Vancouver on the map and be patient. Value for 2-star model rates is good, overall. Location for driving can be a bit tricky because the driveway to enter on this section part of Marine Dr. is only from the westbound side. Traffic heading eastbound has to go out of their way to make a U-turn or 3-point turn at another intersection nearby. Room cleanliness is decent. Room furnishings are minimalist, and aged at least a decade if not even older. Air conditioning unit is too noisy to run at night to fall asleep and stay asleep. Walls are thin are not well insulated. Can overhear neighbouring room's customers speaking at normal indoor voice volume. Parking lot paved asphalt is unkempt in rough shape; other smoking customers have littered cigarette butts, still left uncleaned. Front desk charging an incidentals deposit of $300 CAD is the highest I've ever seen at any hotel, let alone a 2-star motel.
