An absolutely gorgeous gem of a place. I stayed with my family in two tents during January and forgot to review the place. The food was absolutely delicious, the attention to detail superb. The game drives were amazing and we saw the big five. Quite a contrast to the Kruger park as it is greener and more lush as it is Natal. The most pleasant two nights! If you can, please do experience the beauty of Mavela.

Exceptional lodge. Super comfy beds, plenty of great food & drink, amazing views. The Mavela team deliver a seamless 1st class personally tailored service, aided by keeping guest numbers small (just 7 tents). They clearly care for eachother, their guests and the natural world. Guides are passionate & knowledgable and make the most of Manyoni's top quality game / bird watching opportunities on every drive. Our experience overall (& especially on my birthday) was epic! We felt at home from the moment we arrived, and learnt & saw so much while we were there. I would return in a heartbeat.

Moderne, luxuriöse Lodge mit einem wunderbaren Team. Aufmerksamer, freundlicher Service. Das Essen war hervorragend. Die Game-Drives mit Ranger Jason Branford waren lehrreich und unterhaltsam. Viele Tiersichtungen: Löwen, Giraffen, Nashörner, Nilpferde, Impala, Nyala, Kudu, Warzenschweine, viele hübsche Vögel. Ich werde sicherlich wieder dorthin fahren.

My family and I had the opportunity to celebrate my 60th birthday recently at the lodge. This was our first visit to the lodge, having previously visited our lodges in Manyoni Reserve. The 7 tents are beautifully appointed and rank with other luxury tented accommodation we have stayed in. The staff were warm and friendly, being very attentive and welcoming. Thanks must go to Martinique , Janu and Anastasia for all they did to make our trip memorable. Caitlin our ranger was incredible and went out of her way to ensure we got the best possible sighting. Her calm and gentle demeanor, supported by our great knowledge and bush sense made our outings memorable. The chefs and general staff are great and the food is world class. Our surprise bush breakfast was amazing and really appreciated. We will most definitely return.

We had visited mavela game lodge on four occasions from 2016 to 2019 which were always excellent in all regard. We have just been again this November staying for four nights and since our last visit the accomodation has been upgraded and is absolutely outstanding. Jason our Guide was brilliant and so knowledgeable on all aspects of the bush flora and fauna and very interesting to listen to, also with a great sense of humour. We were treated to a once in a lifetime elephant sighting with the herd walking past both sides of the truck, what a treat to see these magnificent animals close up. A special thanks to Anistasia who took care of our needs at the lodge in a most friendly and professional manner from the moment she greeted us and throughout our stay. Also the food was excellent so our compliments to the chef.

Prachtige kleinschalige lodge, super vriendelijke service, je krijgt maximale aandacht, het eten is voortreffelijk, mooie verassing met een ontbijt in het reservaat na een ochtend gamedrive. Alles is netjes verzorgd en ook het natuurreservaat is erg goed onderhouden, het is dan ook te zien dat de dieren het er goed naar hun zin hebben.

We enjoyed our three night stay at the lodge. It’s in a beautiful location and the main lounge is comfortable with amazing views from the upper deck across the bush. Our room ( number one) was stunning with a huge elevated balcony where we could watch the game roaming close by. The team made us feel very welcome and gave us exceptional service. Our guide, Roland was very knowledgeable.
