Follansbee Inn

Follansbee Inn has thought of everything to have a comfortable and easy stay with delicious homemade food for breakfast. Everything is there for your comfort and ease, including reclining chairs and a hammock!

We have had the good luck to have visited the Follansbee Inn before, this time we were traveling with a cousin. Rooms were ready for us and Perfect. Comfortable bedding, lovely furnishings and great, relaxing views. Enjoyed 3 Unique and Delicious Breakfast meals during our stay. These are Hearty experiences, you get to enjoy as much as you choose. While being a historic inn, we always felt at home. Everything is top notch. Denis, Kendall and Grace are superb Innkeepers and Hosts.

We haven't even checked out yet this morning (sadly, we must go home) but, waiting for breakfast, I'm eager to write this review. This inn is perfect! Old, rambling, immaculate, it sits beside Kezar Lake with its 3-mile walk, views and quiet. The public areas are comfortable and conducive for sitting, reading, and chatting (or not) with other guests. A front porch does same. Upstairs, in well-appointed rooms, you can hear nothing but an occasional bird and the ring of church bells (which stop at 10PM). Air conditioners are in all units, but they're not really needed. Even the hallways, furnished with antiques and providing additional places to sit, are cool. Stairs are lit by motion-detector lights -- subtle and helpful and showing the thought that goes into every aspect of the running of this inn. Coffee, tea, and whatnot are available all day, ditto chocolates for when you come back from a hike, swim, or paddle. Everything you want is here to borrow -- bikes too. An excellent restaurant is a 6-minute drive up the road. Sunapee is only somewhat farther, along with The Fells, the John Hay estate with its magnificent gardens. I have no caveats here. We are already thinking that the five-hour drive from our home is New York City is a small price to pay to get back here pronto. Others have found this place before we did, return every year, and stay for far longer. Gosh, I can see why. Clearly, recommended without reservation.

A wonderful Inn, kind, generous hosts, delicious breakfasts, peace and quiet, inviting location on Kezar Lake. We are so glad we visited! This is a great place to unplug and imagine simpler times. Ample books, games, art, antique furniture. If you request gluten free, know that they do a fantastic job with gluten-free, gourmet breakfasts.

Our third stay - we like the comfortable rooms, great location. Our room had a view of the lake. Each morning presented an imaginative breakfast. Bring your appetite. It is conveniently located for accessing many sights and activities in both NH and VT.
