Nice stay at this hotel. Parking is included on site with your stay. We requested a sea view and managed to get one. Staff friendly on arrival and departure. Breakfast was lovely with hot and cold options with plenty of items being available. The room was warm, but a fan was provided. Can’t open the windows at night unless you want to be woken up by the gulls! Sink plug wouldn’t release, however we don’t report this until the morning of our check out.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay here. The location of the hotel is perfect, just a short distance to the beach. The room was clean , the public areas are nicely decorated. We ate dinner in the restaurant each evening and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We first visited two days after it opened and that experience was shocking. I went there with my wife and my three year old son. The bar area itself is beautiful and very tastefully done. That is literally as good as it gets. I ordered a burger and my wife a salad and a kids meal for my son. After 45 mins my burger arrived. Because we had been waiting so long my wife just told me to start thinking that hers would soon follow. Twenty mins later after lots of sharing I was finished and my wife and son’s food still hadn’t arrived. We asked the waiter and she said she would chase it up. Another 15 mins later her salad arrived. Then another chase up and a further ten mins our son’s food arrived. The food was poor, like it was stray out of a micro wave. We paid £50+ for the privilege and decided not to return. We did kind of put it down to new staff, new routines etc and assumed it would get better. I decided today, a year and a half on, after a walk along the beach with my son to give this place another try. Walked in and it’s still as nice as ever, I can’t fault the decor! I hadn’t booked but there were lots of free seats and the bar staff were very friendly. They even offered to charge my phone as I’d commented I was worried about it during as it was my only method of payment. Anyways, we ordered our food and sat down. Garlic bread for my son and a chicken burger for me with two drinks, £36! The food arrived ten minutes later. The garlic bread was top notch, very nice! The chicken burger was very thin, overcooked and greasy. The chips were the chunky ones but very dry with lots of those rock hard greasy bits in them. We were halfway through our food when my son needed the toilet. It did cross my mind that they might think we had left but I assumed if I left my phone on the table and our drinks were still more than half full we would be ok. When I returned from the toilet guess what, the food was gone! I spoke to one of the waiting staff who asked if I wanted another meal and apologised but I refused and just left. Two really poor experiences which cost a lot of money. I’m pretty sure I won’t ever be going back. Great venue, shocking food and restaurant management!

Had a lovely meal in the bar till a customer sitting near us started talking anti semitic rubbish in a loud voice for all to hear.

Firstly I would just like to say that the rooms and location are great. No complaints there. The restaurant service and bar is another matter. We had booked a table for 16 people to celebrate a family occasion. They had set aside a room but there was no table set and we had to move tables together ourselves to accommodate everyone. The food did arrive and it is fair that the quality was adequate at best. There was no table service for drinks etc. and it took a very long time for them to come and clear the table. In fact one of our party went and asked for this to be done. We also had bought a cake which we had arranged to be brought out after the meal. We had to ask 3 times before the cake arrived at the table. All in all it was a very disappointing experience. Breakfast also had its problems. It was a nice breakfast but again the tables weren't cleared making it difficult to find a table. There was also a noticeable lack of staff. I would definitely not recommend this venue if you are booking for a big party.

Hotel bar and restaurant are lovey. Pluses: Rooms are spacious and modern with everything you need. Great breakfast! Minuses: corridors and rooms are ridiculously hot. Yes we went in July but it was raining and cooler than it had been. Felt like the heating was on. We hadn’t expected a sea view with our room but were disappointed that all we had to see was a pigeon toilet (clearly had not been cleaned for some time). Avoid room 127 if you can.

This is such a lovely hotel, overlooking the north sea, about a 15/20 minute walk into Tynemouth. Very clean and very friendly, lovely food and a good selection of beer, no complaints (well, 0ne complaint, no air con which is a shame after a complete re-build) and cant wait to go back there.
