I cannot find any negatives for this hotel, lovely clean room, great toiletries, gorgeous bed, lovely staff, the breakfast was brilliant with a very full buffet and great cooked food. A very peaceful drink in the lovely garden in the evening. Can't review restaurant as didn't eat dinner there, overall, an amazing hotel. oh yes, i loved the Dyson hairdryer and fresh milk in the fridge !

Being local this is one of our favorites places to go and as this was a very special occasion (partners birthday) we decided to make the most of the evening and turned up at 17:00 for pre-dinner drinks in the beautiful garden. We waited approx 10 minutes at the bar, but no staff was present. I went to reception and asked the manager if anyone was available to serve drinks. He told me that he was busy, but will come round shortly. When I got back to the bar Curtis had turned up, apologized and said he had to do some stock taking. I informed the manager that we are now being looked after. At 19:00 we went into the restaurant for dinner. I went to sit down, but my chair was stained and inform Sarah. It was not replaced. At 19:20 we were still waiting to order wine. We told Liam, Sarah and Yaz. Liam told us that we need to order, but I said not yet because we haven't received the bottle of wine. After another 10 minutes He returned to take our order, but still no wine. After another 10 minutes the wine arrived. Our starters arrived shortly after. When the main courses arrived there was no side dishes and after 5 minutes we inform Liam, Sarah and Yaz, as they walk passed. We eat the main course without any side dishes, paid and left. The food was very nice, but the service was appalling A very disappointing evening.

Well what can I say, when we arrived a day earlier than expected Caroline made us feel very welcome and sorted us out a room for the night without any fuss. The following day we packed our stuff and left them in the room and when we got back later all our stuff had been moved to the room we were supposed to be in.The next lady on reception knew all about our faux pas but she was prepared and as we checked out she gave us our next key and told us if we arrived back early just check as the room may be ready. All the staff are brilliant, Jenni runs the breakfast room really well, Olivia worked the dining room well and all the bar staff we came across were great as well. The housekeeping team were great and kept us supplied with anything we needed even if we didn't need them to clean. Service across the hotel was amazing, well done to the whole team. It is so quiet in the hotel, no noise heard apart from the odd door being closed. It was soo hot. Maureen & Andy x

The pheasant hotel is a beautiful building set in lovely grounds and garden, however despite the glorious weather today in was empty of customers during lunch session, I was the only customer present. Well I would have been a customer if I had received a more welcoming reception from the staff. This is not the first time I have left without making a purchase due to the attitude of the staff. Surely the management must be asking why thier establishment is empty when others in the area have full car parks. I know this because I was still hoping for a drink and drove by many full car parks before stopping at a local pub where I was pleasantly greeted.

Was a go to place couple of times a year but not anymore. Was a great restaurant with fantastic menu and cooking. Why have great restaurants refrained from serving bread as you sit down, its a dining lifestyle to break bread. Another cost saving exercise to make you buy some crap frozen micro bread to purchase. sorry but too experienced to be fooled by this cheap trick. Staff are fantastic, food was just ok, service was good, just do what you use to do in the past please and add it to the cost.

We booked afternoon tea for £35 for 2. (Goupon) We were early but that was ok as we waited in the bar. We were told we had to wait to our time slot as the chef needed to prepare for our tea. fair enough. When the time came up we were taken to a the orangery which was a very pleasant room. Table was set with very pretty plates and cups etc. Given choice of tea or coffee. No choices of types of tea or coffee given. Hubbys coffee pot overflowed when plunged (he was being gentle) and this made a mess on the table cloth. We wasn't offered a clean table cloth. Ok not a big problem but would be nice for the table cloth to be changed. A 3 tired cake plate arrived. finger sandwiches (2 x of each): cheese, ham, salmon and egg. Tasted nice, However they were very cold. Obviously had been taken out of the fridge a few minutes before serving. Not very freshly made. 2 x slither of homemade sausage roll. Honestly it was about 5 mm thick, at least give us a mini sausage roll each or even 1/2 mini one. The cakes. 2 x tiny Victoria sponge, 2 x tiny bit of a mini batten burg, 2 x one bite of lemon drizzle, 2 x one bite of marble cake. These were so small. There was no pastry cakes or anything interesting. No choice of scone. Only fruit. as i don't eat currents we took them home for hubby to eat later, He threw them away as they were dry and heavy. Didn't feel fleshly made. 2 raspberries, blackberry and 2 tiny dark chocolate truffles (peas size) Not once were we asked if everything was OK or If we needed more tea or coffee. One staff member did say bye as she looked up from cleaning a table. Very disappointing. We have been to other venues who supplied a very nice afternoon tea, and didn't charge as much.

We got an afternoon tea here on a Groupon deal. The place is absolutely lovely and there was a really good atmosphere. It's probably the best afternoon tea we've had. The sandwiches were the highlight and the pot of tea we had was absolutely enormous !

After a disappointing visit to The hotel in November We ventured back to a delightful meal in the restaurant. It had positively improved and we are happy to say we had an enjoyable meal and good service and would not hesitate in returning to the Hotel to stay and eat
