Comfort Inn & Suites

This place is like a crackhouse... Doors not secure doors and loud music and smoking through the floor. Talked to manager and was told to find another place to stay if not happy here... Went out a secured door and other occupants put stone to keep door from closing. I notified receptionist and she stated don't worry about it because that's what smokers do for convenience.

This had to be the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I got stuck in traffic and had to stop for the night as I was too tired to keep driving. I knew the room wasn’t great, but in the morning I was shocked at just how disgusting it was. The floors were sticky, hair in the shower, sink didn’t drain, nasty stain on the bedding, big stain on the rug and let’s not forget the bullet hole in the window. Completely unacceptable on so many levels.

Needed one night stay in this area and found Comfort Inn. Had a King suite and the room was excellent size, was clean and had fridge, microwave, flat screen, coffee maker and supplies. Could not ask for more. The young woman at the check in desk was hospitable and professional. The room was a bit dated, especially the bathroom, but for the price there are no complaints. They had coffee and tea avail all day along with indoor pool and small gym on the first floor. Bonus for me was it is next door to Denny's that was open 24 hours. All in all a good stay, comfortable and quiet and in a good location for my trip. One tip is that if you are using car navigation system it brings you to road with NO entrance to the hotel. You need to go through the gas station and past Denny's through their parking lot to access the hotel. I followed my navigation and ended up on the dead end and blowing out my tire (shredded) - but that's a story for another time!

We chose this hotel because it had a room with a whirlpool available and was near where we needed to be for the weekend. It was easy to find but the entrance is a bit confusing as you have to go through the Flying J and Dennys parking lot. Check in was a bit slow as the front desk person seemed to be in training and the person assisting her was having difficulty hearing. Once we got to our room, it was clean and slightly updated. The whirlpool in the room worked well, there was plenty of hot water. We also had a chance to use the pool and hot tub . The hot tub was cloudy and the jets were not great but the pool was clear and almost as warm as the hot tub. The deck needed a cleaning but the water was nice and there were fresh towels available. We slept very well on the comfortable bed. It was quiet too even though the parking area had lots of cars. Breakfast was offered but it wasn't what we usually expect from Comfort Inns. There were the standard dry scrambled eggs and brown and serve sausage links but no waffle irons and no microwave to cook the instant oatmeal. The pastries were stale. We got by with what was there, but if you are looking for a substantial breakfast , plan to go elsewhere. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.

I travel on the weekends for work and I am always looking for an inexpensive stay. I mostly stay at the Comfort Suites in Newark DE, but it would have been over $200 a night with tax during Memorial Day weekend. Too much. This property was about 10 miles farther away right off of I95. It is an older property, but it was still clean. Everything worked. I have to stay here again in another month. At least I was on the second floor. It's just very dated. But compared to some other choice hotels, it was acceptable. The one thing it has going for it is the close location to the cute little town of NorthEast MD. I think if you are traveling and you aren't super picky, you can stand this place for a night. If you are willing to pay more (during the summer) then I recommend the Choice Hotel in Newark DE. It is much newer, cleaner, and nicer and it is my go-to hotel for my off season work stays. The personal at both hotels are very nice. I'm pretty picky, so I hope my review comes off as being honest. I would not stay here for any sort of vacation, but for a work stay I can manage. It is honestly a shame that Choice Hotels really took a nose dive during Covid. There are so many properties that need a complete renovation. I think Choice Hotels should take a look at their inventory list and get rid of these properties, but I guess they still make money. This property is on the cusp of needing a complete renovation, but it's not quite there yet.

Got to the room to find the HVAC was VERY noisey, the bathroom door hinge creeked very ANY movement, there was NO fire Evacuation plan on the door as well as the room rental rates, finally there was no coffee pot...just the "fixins" and tea bags! The overall condition of the entire location was run down and showing it's age! Even at a reasonable rate, I'll not return.
