The Lady Mary Inn

We loved this Bed and Breakfast! We were greeted by Ryan the owner who has the perfect personality for a B&B. He gave us a history of the Mansion and its owners. Quite interesting. The room we stayed in, Trillium was gorgeous and spacious. Very comfortable bed and linens which is important. Slept great. The breakfasts were delicious and so were the cookies he made. The other guests were very friendly which is a real plus. This is all that a Bed and Breakfast is supposed to be. And we go to quite a few B&B's. We look forward to being repeat guests. The house and its history are so very interesting and Ryan has so much knowledge of it as he shows you around when you arrive. If you go try Hobbs Harborside in Wells for dinner as well as Antatolias in Somerworth. . We loved both places as well.

My daughter and I visited today and had an exquisite afternoon tea! Caroline was a wonderfully warm and genuinely kind host and she makes the most sumptuous scones ever! We throughly enjoyed our visit - the lovely Victorian ambiance, lovely grounds, delicious food and warm welcome were so delightful! Thank you for a special treat for my birthday Caroline and enjoy your trip! Definitely a must visit folks!

Wonderful host and elegant property convenient to beaches and amenities while also being a calm oasis.

Beautifully unique property, great weekend getaway.

This is a victorian home… every room is beautifully decorated and comfortable… the host is wonderful … and the breakfast amazing… I loved everything about it and highly recommend it … I would definitely stay there again!!

Our stay at The Lady Mary Inn is going to be the gold star by which we judge all our future B&B stays (sorry future hosts!). What a memorable vacation in such a historic setting... We were welcomed at the mansion by our host Ryan with a glass of homemade sangria. He gave us a tour, told us about all the history of the house, and invited us to explore at our leisure. He had a wealth of restaurant recommendations and insider knowledge of the best things to see and do in the area of which we took full advantage -- visiting restaurants, going for walks, and even blueberry picking! Our days at the Inn started with an incredible farm to table breakfast (including duck eggs, tomatoes, and peaches from his farm) set out in the formal dining room or the sunny, covered back porch. We spent days out exploring the area and yet we were happy to return to our spacious yet cozy room for a soak in the oversize tub and stretching out on the king bed. Throughout the house Ryan features local artists and artisans - even the soap in the rooms is locally produced which is a nice touch. Ryan was an amazingly welcoming host who made it feel like we were visiting an old friend. He was knowledgeable and easy to chat with and we loved hearing about all his plans for the historic estate. The community and the Hurd Manor are lucky to have a passionate and creative person caring for the estate's legacy. We're looking forward to visiting again next time we're in the area!
