Ramada by Wyndham Pinewood Park Resort North Bay

The hotel is fine and a good price. Service was very good. It is not a regular 3 star hotel as upgrades are necessary. However it is a very good 2 star with a very quiet location.

The pool was closed do to the heater being broken, whirlpool was empty, and not much lightening in the room for reading,

Where do I start!! I walk with a walker and when I made our reservation, they said that there was no accessibility room on the main floor with a walk in shower. I’d have to go down stairs and there was no elevator. How is this possible? I then settled for a room on the main floor. Upon our arrival, we knew that the stay would not be very easy. There was no ramp for me to use my walker, therefore I had to go up a few steps to be able to even get into the hotel. There were no automatic door openers either. Completely out of breath, I discussed my situation again and they could not accommodate use. At that very moment, we should have refused and gone elsewhere. They sent us all the way to the very end of the hotel stating there was nothing closer available. However, there were no cars when we got there and no cars when we left. The fully carpeted hotel was not upkept and was not clean. Our sheets on the bed were inside out, we had difficulty controlling the heat throughout the room. It was cold in one part and hot in another, when we turned up the heat, it was very hot in one area and comfortable in the other, when we turned the heat down, it was cozy in the bedroom part but cold in the other section of the room. Definitely not very comfortable. The TV did not work properly. The bathroom was so small I could not even enter with my walker. There were no bars to hold on to in the tub and the non slippery strips were so used, they didn’t work. Furthermore, there jet tub was disgusting. My husband ran it for a good 15 minutes the first night and the second day, when he was in the tub, things came floating out of the jets. Don’t know if they actually ever cleaned it. This one takes the cake… their continental breakfast was in a room off of the reception area. When we walked in for breakfast, it was like hitting a wall of ice. The temperature in there must have been about 5 degrees Celsius. We picked a few things and went back to our room to eat. The yogurt was past date, the boiled eggs tasted like fish, the toaster took forever to warm up and toast the bread. There was no coffee. About the only thing we did not see, besides other customers, were bugs but that doesn’t mean they weren’t there. We just did not see them. This hotel that once had a phenomenal reputation in North Bay is now the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. What a shame! How disappointing and disgusting!!

Room was alright , beds were clean and made , however the floors were definitely not done and there are nails sticking out of the carpet outside of the washroom which is a very big concern when booking a room with small children !
