This hotel was once a prestigious hotel just to see... I imagine! but now it is very shabby very old. Dirty walls, stained curtains, extremely dirty hallway carpets. Very very large room with high ceilings and air conditioning. just 2 small soaps in the bathroom and 2 towels. Bathroom which is very old and full of mold Nothing has been redone everything seems original, the walls dirty or so old hard to say. The staff is extremely kind, cordial and helps you without hesitation.

I had a fantastic time at the Royal Mekong Riverside Hotel! The staff were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. My room had a beautiful view of the Mekong River, and waking up to that was such a treat.
The hotel has a classic charm, and while some parts are older, everything was clean and well-maintained. I loved relaxing by the pool after a day of exploring Nongkhai. The staff also gave great tips on local spots to visit.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, friendly place with amazing views, this is it. I’ll definitely be back!
Tip: Don’t miss the sunset from your room—it’s stunning!

It was definitely a great hotel once, but now it's not any better. The entrance was huge but not well-kept.
The entrance hall was also spooky.
Dark and spooky, bad smell,
No people.
We were looking for people, there were none in the whole huge hotel... only one person who always showed us to the room we had booked. The room had no air conditioning, so she offered us another room, with air conditioning, but without a view of the Mekhong River as booked.
...
It was simply ghostly.
My first impression:

The only lady in the huge hotel was friendly and nice.
