Kashiwaya

The location is perfect, close to the sacred Mt. Gassan. The inn has an old feel to it, but it is a treasure trove of human resources, including the landlady. The warm and smiling service is so good you'll want to have seconds. The facilities and amenities are not sufficient, but the quality of the hot springs and food more than makes up for that. The food is mainly made with ingredients from the mountains, and the salt-grilled sweetfish was very delicious. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, but since I stayed in late October, I didn't have any complaints, but it might be uncomfortable to sleep in the summer. There is only an indoor bath, no open-air bath. I would like to return if I want to see the landlady's smiling face again.
