Nagenahira Beach Villa

We had a 3 night stay in mid July. The villa was lovely- clean, great shower, plenty of space and excellent aircon! The location was on a peaceful beach. Breakfast was great and the savoury prawns ( a little like a Thai yellow curry) were amazing.

This homely beach resort continues to offer a wonderful place to stay. Rooms are excellent and food really good. The sea even in the monsoon was still very good and could be enjoyed. Great for relaxation. Sea food is the best here and if you like crabs, could not b beaten

This location is lovely...right on the beach. The rooms are very large as is the bathroom and are air conditioned. Would be nice to have had a pool as well as not overly big on lying on a beach. The location is lovely and staff nice but breakfast was quite poor unfortunately.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Nagenahira Beach Villas. The property is nestled in a quiet area on Nilaveli Beach, which is one of the most stunning stretches of coast I have experienced. The sea is blue and calm and the beach is vast. You occasionally see fishermen dragging their nets in, which is a wonderful experience, and you can also see Pidgeon Island from the property. All in all 5 stars for location and we spend many an hour in the cool ocean. There is no pool (I have to confess that a small pool would have been most welcome, especially later on in the evening), but this did not cause us any issues as the sea was effectively a big pool. The staff are first class. We crossed paths with the owner, who was excellent in recommending tourist activities and the staff were always around to help. I was a big fan of the food, especially the Sri Lankan fare which was exceptional. A word of advice - try the crab curry! The rooms are spread across the property. Stayed in a bigger room on the ocean front, which was large and airy. Heaps of tea and coffee and a lovely patio to sit on and see the monkeys swinging on the trees nearby. The rooms do get exceptionally hot during the day though, and no amount of air-conditioning could cool it below 25 degrees or so. Suspect it is to do with the time of year and the roof material. The bathroom was fine and had all the amenities, but could do with a bit of an update. I would strongly recommend staying here for some R&R and will certainly be back when I next visit the country.
