Checked into hotel in the early hours of the morning 2:00am. First impression looked pretty decent… well that was until we got to our room. Small compact room, very clean and modern. Opened the blinds and shock horror… no balcony but we did have our very own building site next door. Tried to phone reception straight away … surprise the phone didn’t work !!! Trip down to reception. No joy can’t swap rooms as he doesn’t have authority, made a note I his handover. Went straight to reception in morning got fobbed off by reception staff then a manager just were not bothered. Decided to call tui. What a joke that was just were not bothered said we would have to wait a further 4 hours before the hotel could decide if there was a room available. Been messed about for two day now absolute joke Tui and hotel staff including management absolute waste of time. Avoid this hotel as will spoil your holiday

We booked a 3 nights at Niko for the first time in Crete. The hotel’s staff are very attentive, every need was served positively with a smile and a good will. we had a rented car the hotel offered a free valet service since there’s no private parking - it was very convenient. The breakfast was very good. The hotel has 2 major pools (5th floor and 9th floor) with an astonishing view to the sea. There was always a bed and umbrella available in one of the pools, never too crowded. The rooms on lower floors that are turning the street side have a bit of noise problem. I recommend taking the rooms that turns to the pools. In overall the hotel justifies a 5 star the attitude of the staff, the amenities, the food and beverage, room condition and atmosphere are very good. The lobby should get a new touch like the other beautiful areas…

In general the hotel is lovely, beautiful views, friendly staff, good location. Great housekeeping service. Very good sushi and Caesar salad. However for a 5 star hotel we didn’t like having to race for sunbeds first thing in the morning. If you didn’t have one by 8.30am on floor 5 then there wasn’t hope in getting one until 4pm. The variety of food offered for breakfast didn’t change for 9- days. We thought there maybe some entertainment in the evenings but there was very little. We saw a DJ for 2 nights but no other guests around. Nothing is advertised to encourage people to stay around the hotel in the evening so have to keep asking at reception The room is nice but no storage to put suitcases out of sight. No ironing board - tried to ask reception numerous times but phone didn’t work. The shower is in the room so no privacy and water sprays out onto floor. We had an atrium view but there isn’t much of a view - more a white wall. Plunge pool is very cold Overall we enjoyed our stay - just a few things that weren’t quite the 5* like we were expecting .

Our stay at Niko Seaside Hotel started with disappointment: the room we were given looked nothing like the photos online. Instead of a sea view, we had a balcony facing a wall under the pool and directly into other guests’ rooms – far from the relaxing atmosphere we were expecting. When we raised the issue, we were told that an upgrade is never guaranteed and that “no sea view” includes rooms like this. However, this doesn’t explain why the photos online clearly show balconies with sea views, even for lower categories. After some back and forth, the situation was finally resolved in our favor: we were kindly offered a room in the opposite Intercontinental building with a private pool and a true sea view – at no extra cost. This was much appreciated and definitely a highlight. The staff was polite and friendly throughout, though assistance took time and the initial response was rather dismissive, as if this situation were normal – which it clearly shouldn’t be, especially not in a 5-star hotel. In summary: Nice facilities and friendly staff, but be very careful with your room choice – what you book may not match your expectations unless you’re proactive.
