As expected of Okura, it will never disappoint you. The service, environment and food are of course impeccable, and the location is also super good, right next to the Bandai Bridge and the Shin-no-Kawa River. It is not far from Niigata Station. All the staff are wonderful. Friendly yet polite. The breakfast is delicious. They have a wide variety of rice so you can compare different types. They have a wide selection of Western food as well as Japanese food. The French toast was also very good.
There are also many other restaurants in the hotel.

I made a reservation on the spot and stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room (with extra bedding) for three people including my child (almost an adult). The extra bedding was normal size and no problem. Even with the extra bed, the room didn't feel cramped. The staff were very attentive and had a calming atmosphere, so I was able to stay comfortably. The view of the Shinano River from the room was great, and I was able to sleep well without being bothered by the surrounding noise. The breakfast the next morning had a wide variety of options and was all delicious! We also had the chance to try different types of rice, so we were able to enjoy a taste unique to Niigata.

It’s a little far from the station, but easily accessible by bus. You can’t miss it as you’re crossing Bandai Bridge.

Hotel is a convenient walk from the nearest bus stop, and it provides a comfortable feeling within the hotels itself. The buffet was delicious, and they feature daily changes on the rice to give an insight on the type of rice you can get from which part of their prefecture.
Hotel service was great, and the comfortable night gown was a perfect touch as you wear it to call it a day when you sleep.
Only thing is that there was no laudry facility in the hotel, but it was, in general a great experience.
