Comfort Inn Lexington South

My daughter’s basketball team stayed here for a tournament. The staff was nice and accommodating. The rooms were large and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The linen was high quality. There were plenty of pillows. The lobby had loads of construction items but was no bother to us. The first night, the staff had fresh cookies and lemonade in the lobby. Breakfast was decent. There was a waffle maker and coffee. There were some other items like eggs, sausage and biscuits. The kids decided to skip breakfast. There was a large dining area that parents were able to hang out and play card games at night. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel.

Do not believe the good reviews of this place! My pilots stay there. There was blood on the wall. The rooms were full of mold and just downright disgusting. When I spoke with Trish, she didn’t seem to care at all that there was blood on the wall.

Why do people rate this so highly? It was a truck stop. Two inches of mildew around the shower floor. Run down, near empty vending machines. Stale urine smell in the bathroom. Dirty, threadbare furniture in the lobby. Cracked tiles in a filthy elevator. The only good things were the coffee, and the people who worked there seemed nice. It desperately needs a remodel and some good housekeeping.

The comforter on one of the beds had what looked like dried body fluids on it. The bathroom had mold all around the shower pan and up on the ceiling by the walls. We stayed two nights and our room was not made up after our first night, they did change out the dirty comforter. I expected that the room would have been gone over with a fine-tooth comb while we were gone for the day. We came back too late from our day out to change hotels. there were dead bugs and crumbs on the floor and a cockroach crawling on the wall and ceiling. We were given a discount for our stay and were offered a different room, but with the condition of the one we were in we did not think a different room would make any difference.

Was a quick and easy check in. The rooms were clean and the best were comfortable and the breakfast was good. Will stay here again. It was nice and quiet and we had a good time and enjoyed ourselves in the area.

I left a personal note for Patricia “Trish” Harris (Mgr) to call me. I left a voicemail two days later. I’m still waiting. I called again (9 days), her response to this review: “Sorry to hear this”- that’s it. I’ve stayed here 4 or 5 times before. I booked three rooms for three nights. ONE room removed the DND (Do Not Disturb)sign at 8:30am daily. It was never cleaned. SECOND room removed the DND sign at 9:30 daily. We received housekeeping once, but they left the black hair (not ours) on the bathroom floor. The housekeepers did awake my wife at 9am by repeated yelling in the hallway. Later, at the front desk, when the housekeeping supv said they don’t yell, two housekeepers began yelling to each other. The THIRD room kept their DND sign on the door daily. One morning, the housekeeper tried to open the door at 8:30am, while turning the handle with a DND sign on it. In the spring I’ll need 5-7 rooms for four nights. I bet, Holiday Inn Express would like our business. Also, WiFi is terrible. Sometimes it doesn’t connect at all. When it does, it’s less than 1mg, not much better than dial-up from the 80s.
