You can find better (much better) places to stay for less money. The front desk is wonderful. We arrived early because of our flights and had a cola in the bar. The man got us a room before we could finish drinking our Coca-Cola. The room was ok. Not elegant, very mediocre as far as decor, but passable. The breakfast was good but the staff needs training. For example, we were pretty much ignored unless we flagged down a server to ask for coffee. Also, servers would pass our table and not remove dirty plates. Sitting in the bar, I sat for about 15 minutes and no one asked me for my order. Finally, my sister went up to see what the problem was. They thought I was talking to the folks at the bar, but they had departed for side chairs and tables and I was sitting there alone quite a long time and no one in the wait staff was smart enough to even ask what I wanted. Therefore, the folks in the bar also could use some training. We paid an additional $600 for two people as an upgrade for our trip, thinking we would have superior rooms and service, which is NOT what we found at Le Scribe. We would have been better off just taking the standard room offered by Viking at another hotel. Lesson learned! Unless you are ok with paying exorbitant prices for less-than-average accommodations, by all means stay here. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
