Stunning views, silence. Feeling of unity with nature. Hotel with all the amenities of civilization (hot water, heating, etc.). All hotels of the Serena chain are very good. We liked it.

The hotel facilities are complete, the room has a great view, you can see the starry sky and sunrise, and overlook the entire crater. The hotel is old, and the shower is a bit slippery if you don't wear slippers. After sleeping for a night, there are two or three itchy bumps on my body. I'm not sure if there are bugs on the bed or I was bitten by some bugs outside. The food tastes good, but if you choose to pack a lunch box, don't have too high expectations.

Amazing hotel with an amazing view and fun rooms. The only negative was that the room was on the cold side. Even with a hot water bottle, it was chilly sleeping weather- bring pajamas if you visit during the summer. Had a lot of interesting interactions with the Maasai. The restaurant was good. This was my third Serena hotel and the menus are all similar. It would be nice if there was a bit more variety. Minor complaints notwithstanding, a great place to visit.

Amazing views of the crater! This lodge was luxurious, with balconies overlooking the crater, friendly staff, comfortable beds, warm showers with great pressure and a welcome basket of fruit. The lodge was very busy (peak season), including some larger tour groups, which meant the bar and restaurant were very crowded but staff were attentive and provided excellent service.

We stayed here as part of our safari trip in Tanzania. The hotel is in a fantastic location on the edge of the crater with superb views. The welcome on arrival was excellent, the staff very attentive, helpful and always smiling. The food was excellent and there was entertainment each night.

The staff were nice and the views of the crater are amazing. The room doesn't have a/c, and while there were two radiators, they didn't work. There was no sheet, only a comforter on the bed. There also wasn't any hair conditioner, or an outlet in the bathroom. The food was average. There's a tip box at the registration counter if you'd like to use that instead of tipping individually. The power kept going out in the early morning around 6am and the credit card machine wouldn't work so make sure you have cash, either Tanzanian shillings or USD.
