The Retreat is a lovely place. It is beautiful and with the Ngorongoro at your doorstep. The place is clean, food is good and the service is impeccable. Staff is fantastic. The lodge is really like out of a movie. It is located on a remote Kopje (island rock) in the Northern Serengeti, build into the rocks. The premises are teaming with hyax animals (furry relatives to elephants ?!) and the occasional visiting baboon troupe. It is hardly possible to imagine a more special setting, where you can watch animals below from the pool. Staff was very kind and friendly and also the food was tasty.
