Ocean Escape Resort & Spa

What a special place! We absolutely love our stay here. The owner and his wife did everything possible to make it special and to help us out with all our questions. Elaine is just outstanding at her job and she is the main point of contact - so thoroughly knowledgeable and friendly - all her recommendations were spot on! We could not have asked for a better experience. The design of the villas is really outstanding with enough space between the villas and a smart angled design to ensure quiet and privacy. I wish we could have stayed longer. This place is an excellent value and the massages are excellent, very affordable and 75 minutes long! The restaurant and tapas bar at the end of the pool is outstanding. When we were there they were working on a deck that soon will further enhance the space available to view the ocean while you enjoy a drink and a meal. And then there is the salt water pool. How great is that? Water pumped daily straight from the ocean so no chemicals like chlorine in this pool!!! The coffee place up the street is wonderful. What a great little place to relax. I just hope they have room for the next time we want to come. We have NEVER been happier with any place we have stayed!!!

Accommodations were lovely- liked not having children at the resort

Very very comfortable and really recommend! We had a great stay and the hotel views were beautiful, the staff and owner are both very nice and suggested many great things to do for us. We were provided many different varieties of food for breakfast. Loved it here and will definitely come back!

Our stay exceeded our expectations! from the moment we walked in fresh from arriving early in the morning (8am). The lady who greeted us at reception, Elaine, was very friendly and took us straight to our villa which was ready to go hours before check in was supposed to have occurred. Elaine was very informative in how to get about efficiently, the best local spots to dine out at and even gave us a call after my partner and I did the Cross Island hike to check up and ensure we'd made our way safely across. The accommodation was clean and when taking a break from all the snorkelling/eating about/exploring of Rarotonga and Aitutaki, a very relaxing place to settle in for the evening. The pool is a salt water pool which was always kept glistening and was never too busy and the bar on-site BJ Tapas Bar(?) offers up some great drinks and food. Highly recommended!

We would stay again! A lovely, restful stay. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. Rooms are great and the pool and other facilities are lovely. We would definitely stay again.

We were at first disappointed that we were unable to find a spot on Muri beach a popular spot on the island due to the beautiful beaches. But once we checked into Ocean Escape we were glad to be here! The property is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and there were no crowds! This adult only boutique hotel has 14 rooms. Often times were the only ones on the beach or at the pool. The beach is a bit rocky and the waves break about 50 yards from shore but the waves are magnificent to watch. We saw whales breaching right off the breaks. The shore abounds with shells and coral. The sunrises were breathtaking! The staff were all very friendly. Elaine is at the front desk and can arrange just about anything for you! She helped change a flight for us and even mailed my postcards on her way to town! She is fabulous! Poko the bartender at the hotels Topas lounge is fun and charming and makes the yummiest drinks. A true mixologist! I definitely recommend this hotel if you’re planning a stay on Rarotonga.
