Wall paper peeling, chipped paint. Restaurant closed, not revealed during booking. Time for some maintenance work. Lots of potential for a 200+ yo inn. Historic Inn in need of some love. Rooms on 2nd and 3rd floors not elevator, due to age of hotel (understandable).

Plumbing is awful. The shower foes from normal & you have to wait and set it just “so”… per their instructions.. then in middle of our shower goes from ok to burning hot or freezing cold without touching any taps… on top of that the a/c leaked all over carpeted floor and they could not stop it so put towels under still and wet carpet for 2 days before we left. No coffee make or such so you have to go a few blocks to get coffee. Bed uncomfortable and extra a/c box was put in with duct tape that kept peeling off. Manager who tried to help was nice but the need a plumbing remodel.

Staff more concerned with restaurant business than hotel. Room average nothing spectacular. Standard amenities there but little more. Money better spent at chain hotel.

Convenient location, poor quality
Clean enough but everything was in poor condition . Radiator didn’t work. Lamp didn’t work. Wallpaper peeling off. Bathroom door didn’t close. Bed, pillows and bedding were terrible quality.
It was conveniently located.

Not a cookie cutter
Nice, quaint hotel, certainly not a chain or cookie cutter. Room was drafty but a space heater was available. Good bed.

While we love historic hotels, we would not stay here again. Room 205 was actually fairly nicely decorated and bed very comfortable. The small folding table in the bathroom is not a replacement for a vanity. The water damage and mold is a constant problem in between the sink and shower and cannot be fixed by multiple layers of plaster. One shade had several tears in it. The music noise from the restaurant was too loud and went until 11:00 pm. The problems with the showers have not been addressed and are terrible.
