We had a lovely stay in this 200 year old inn. It’s very traditional and run with real care. The host and team are very friendly and helpful. We didn’t meet the chef, but hats off to them, the food is gorgeous, quality ingredients, beautiful cooked. We had the beamed balcony room with french doors and a lovely view. Very comfortable bed. Nice big bathroom, bath and shower. The hotel is fairly remote but close to Haytor and walking routes. It’s peaceful and in lovely surroundings. We would highly recommend a stay here. Thank you Team Rock.

Perfect for couples stay in dartmoor
Amazing stay. Great location. Comfy beds, very clean and organised, friendly staff for whom nothing seemed too much. Great history, lovely beer garden, well stocked bar, nice breakfast including a vegetarian breakfast.

Just spent a night at the Rock Inn Haytor Super service great attention to detail from Simon and all the team. Cosy comfortable room with nice en-suite bathroom. Dining room candle light and nice roaring fire. Excellent food and wine. Will certainly recommend to anyone visiting Dartmoor. Philip & Francine

Had lunch here with some friends - ages ranging from 5 to 80. The service was some of the unfriendliest we have encountered from some of the staff; disinterest to the point of rudeness. The younger staff members were attentive and much friendlier, but overall the service did not enhance our experience. It's a shame as the location is lovely. The food was good, but expensive for what we had.

Charming stay when visiting Dartmoor Park.
Very charming but check with Inn first for directions as gps took us very skinny country lanes. Super nice and accommodating service/staff.

Summer trip to Dartmoor
Great location.
Sunset picnic on Haytor was perfect after a drink or two in the garden.
Staff were so friendly.
The light menu offered on the days when the restaurant wasn’t fully open was great.
Will definitely be back.

No negatives here!
All the staff at The Rock were so helpful. In particular Sharon! We were quite a large group with many requests but each was dealt with without fuss.
Our room, at the top, was spacious with a fabulous bathroom.
The evening set Menu was all delicious. Great service in the restaurant. Good wine list, interesting selection.
